Remember the old WHITEWATER link on Drudge? A lot of us got our start that way.
I think it was “Whitewater File”. Also, the old usenet group, current-events-clinton-white-water or some such thing. Drudge used to post his report there before he had his website.
That's how I found Free Republic. I've been here since March 7, 2000. I wanted to comment earlier than that, but my only email address at that time was a hotmail account and I wasn't allowed to sign up. I've probably been lurking here since the beginning of the Monica business, whenever that was. My house has been a mess ever since.
