Mike Huckabee attacks a fellow Republican on his religion, not only breaking Reagan's 11th commandment, but also showing a stunning level of bigotry often displayed by so called believers in the bible.
I am a religious person who believes in Christ as my savior even though I will not join any organized religion.
I was raised a Northern Baptist, but have both Catholics and Mormons and Protestants in my family.
Quite frankly Mr. Huckabee makes me want to puke when he states that; "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers?"
If he shows his kisser in Southern NH before the primary I'll be out there with a sign protesting this hateful turd. He is no better than those freaks who protest at our soldier's funerals.
There, I've said it let the flames begin.
Since when is the truth bigotry?
According to Fox News a spokes-woman for the Mormon Church denies that the church teaches that Jesus and Satan are brothers and said that is only raised by people who are trying to discredit the Mormon Church.
Well, lets consider what is on the Mormons own website. You can make up your own mind.

Note: Some of my dearest (and I believe Christian) friends are Mormons. We have significant doctrinal differences. What they, and all Mormons have to answer is why their church would lie about what has been accpeted LDS doctrine since the days of Joseph Smith.
Oh, man, how are we ever going to get to 1200 posts on this other thread if you open up vanity level stuff like this?

The Bible vs. Mormon Beliefs
A side-by-side comparison
Sickening.
Cut and past and tell whoopers like huck!
‘Dont Mormons, he asked in an innocent voice, believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?
Huckabee has jumped with both feet into sleaze. In fact, in a combative election cycle this is the sleaziest thing I’ve heard.
A yeeeeaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh moment?
Now, it's dumb to alienate Mormons in the political arena but to accuse Huckabee of being bigoted for disagreeing with Mormon teachings that contradict Biblical teachings is a disgraceful, LIBERAL tactic.
“Since when is the truth bigotry?”
Ask Michael Moore. Huck didn’t even have the courage of Moore to state that he understood Mormonism to believe that Jesus and the devil were brothers. He asked it as a question. Who believes that he doesn’t know enough about Mormonism to ask this question? He is a doctor of theology. Like Moore, Huck used facts out of context and played upon peoples ignorance of an issue. You got played.
>>Quite frankly Mr. Huckabee makes me want to puke when he states that; “Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers?”<<
I am also distressed by Huckabees approach.
But to be fair he didn’t state that... he asked that.
Yes with a degree in theology he didn’t know enough about Mormonism that he had to ask the question. Disingenuous prize of the year at best. Sleazy at worst.
It was certainly disingenuous... my point was it was a disingenuous question rather than a disengenuous statement.
I really don’t understand how it is possible to say that the facts are out of context since we have not seen the full article yet.
I also know that the answer to Huckabee’s question is yes, Mormons do believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers. Nonetheless, I will still probably vote for Mitt if he gets the nomination.
I guarantee that very few people would be upset about a challenge to Huckabee’s more or less orthodox faith. Since when did Mormonism get the same PC protected status of Islam?
Disingenuous?
I suppose we should throw out the entire socratic method of discourse?
“I suppose we should throw out the entire socratic method of discourse?”
Huck wasn’t trying to start a Socratic debate. He was answering a direct question (one to which he knows the answer) with a question allowing him to avoid directly saying what he wanted to say.
So yes, disingenuous.
No it's not. Doctrinal points like this have absolutely NO place in a presidential election. We're electing a President, not a new preacher. Huckabee's use of religion to divide republicans is repulsive and should disqualify him from consideration for our nomination.
Unless you can show me where the Book of Mormon is a threat to the security of the US like the Koran is, I'd say that Romney's religion is his own business and attacks (or questions about his faith designed to turn Christians against him) are nothing more than naked bigotry.
Oh come on. If he had made the simple declarative statement that, “Mormons believe Jesus and Satan are brothers,” he would have been attacked even more mercilessly.
My question remains: Why is Mormonism given the same protected status as Islam? We can ask serious questions about an evangelical’s faith, but a question about the content of a Mormon’s faith is apparently off-limits.
In his lust for power, Huckabee has lost sight
of the lovingkindness of Yah'shua.
