I wonder if Joe was “stug-uh-ling” during his studies?

Ok, all kidding aside, I say, good for Joe Willie.

When he was healthy, I think he was the most dangerous QB in the league.

My favorite Namath moment was late in his career with the Rams against the Giants, where he actually did a quarterback sneak to win the game, and you could just see him gesturing to the defenders, “please don’t touch the knees.” He figured the last thing the Giants would have expected was for him to sneak the ball, and he was right!

I was supposed to attend the same EXD orientation session as Joe, but we put it off because it was during the school year for our children. If we had only known, we would have pulled the children from school in a heartbeat. I guess he was the nicest, sober person in the room. He signed autographs for everyone who asked.

my best friend’s husband collected authographed Time covers - going back years. When they first got together he showed me the one with Joe after he won the Super Bowl. I offered him everything I owned for that da&*ed thing - needless to say - didn’t get it! For years I slept with my Joe Namath pillow case and kept the Playgirl pix of him on the ceiling above my bed (now remember, I was pretty young and dumb then....). I love that guy and only wish him the best!

Foe a while, I dated a gal who produced commercials, She let drop that she had just done one with Joe Willie and couldn't understand my bonkers reaction - she really had no idea who he was! I explained, and she told me he had acted like a perfect gentleman and was totally devoted to his kids. Good stuff to hear, knowing his struggles with the bottle.

Super Bowl III was the first football game I ever watched from beginning to end, with my late dad cheering like crazy for the Jets. The beginnings of my football addiction!

Bless his heart for real.
That’s quite an accomplishment.
It’s not like he had to do it.

I’m real proud of him.
