BATON ROUGE, La. Two students were found shot to death in a home invasion at a Louisiana State University apartment, and officials decided to keep the campus open Friday while police searched for three suspects. The victims, Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Kiran Kumar Allam, both doctorate students from India, were found inside an apartment at the Edward Gay complex late Thursday night after authorities received an emergency call.
Police patrols were increased on the 30,000-student campus Friday and students were told to be cautious, but the university was not locked down. Students were taking the last of their final exams, and many had already left for the semester. The decision not to lock down the campus was made by police after they determined it was an isolated incident and would not spread to other areas of the campus, LSU Chancellor Sean O'Keefe said at a Friday morning news conference. "There was no evidence, nothing to suggest that there was a pattern here that would rapidly escalate, and as a consequence of that, a determination was made that we would not lock down the campus," O'Keefe said.
Allam's pregnant wife called 911 at 10:37 p.m. Thursday after finding the men dead, according to Srinivasa Pothakamuri, a friend of Komma, and campus officials. Komma, a biochemistry student, had been visiting Allam, who was in the chemistry program. The men were each shot once in the head, said Charles Zewe, an LSU system spokesman. Komma was bound with a computer cable, and Allam was found near the door. O'Keefe said that nothing appeared to be stolen, but police were still doing an inventory of the apartment. Three men were seen leaving the area, and police were searching for them Friday, Zewe said.

Does it seem odd that nothing appears to have been stolen? Very sad story, anyway. Seems to be alot of those in the news lately. Very depressing. I pray for their families.

“O’Keefe said that nothing appeared to be stolen”
hmmm.....home invasion?
Tells me the home invasion is a bunch of BS. These two were taken down for a different reason I would guess.
if a wallet is found with 10 in it... but originally held 110 dollars... nothing was apparently stolen... but how to tell what wasn’t there...
there is always reasons for murder and they will surface soon...

It’s hard to imagine someone will break into your house and carefully take out the money out of your wallet, leaving everything apparently in place, oh, and btw kill the people who were there.

Sounds dopey to me.
It is a shame to say, but thugs don’t necessarily need a reason to kill others. Street cred and all that other stuff I don’t understand and can’t identify with. Hopefully the 3 or 4 youts who committed this crime will enjoy the hospitality of Angola sooner rather than later.
Or another possibility....
I woke up one morning and looked around the room. Something wasn't right. I realized that someone had broken in the night before and replaced everything in my apartment with an exact replica. *Steven Wright.
This article is old and hasn’t been updated with the more current info.. From the Baton Rouge ‘The Morning Advocate’ the following indicates items missing:
[....But Capt. Russell Roge of the LSU Police Department said Friday afternoon during a meeting with Edward Gay Apartments residents that This is an armed robbery, we know that for sure. There are items missing.
He said the robbery was possibly a target of opportunity and detectives have heard that Allam often left the door to his apartment open. There were no signs of forced entry, Roge said.....]

I guess it remains to be seen. Does it appear to anyone else that robbers are getting much more bold lately? It used to be that most of them didn’t want to kill anyone, they just wanted to get whatever and get out. Now....sheesh you read every day about someone murdered in an apparent robbery or car jacking or whatever.

Thanks for that info
Hindu.
just because one does not see what was taken, doesn’t mean there was no burglary...
they wanted something and would kill for it...

These home invasions are getting bolder and more violent every day. And the perps all seem to be from the same background.
We had two occur in our small town of 27,000 people in the past two weeks. Perps were black men driving cars with NJ plates. This is how they do their Christmas shopping.
Those poor grad students. To think of all that hard-earned knowledge, spilled out on the floor because a bunch of ignorant thugs wanted their stuff.
My condolences to the wives of the two victims, and to their families back in India.
You could be right. Then again....

Police in US is not as corrupt as in India, but its far more incompetent in bringing people to justice, unless the victim is white.
Being a victim of mugging by some black thugs as well as a similar home robbery (again by some black goons) in Michigan, I have seen first hand the callousness with which cops deal with cases involving Indian victims. They just ignore our complaints, spit around the house and just leave the case for good. Their disgusting behavior made even INDIAN cops look good..
Indian cops can catch any kind of thief/goon within 24 hours and then spend the next few weeks/months fleecing the victim for bribes to get back their valuables.
US cops just ignore the entire case if the victim is an Indian (I dont know what they do to black and hispanic victims), but probably do an exceptional job if the victim is white.
