Ok, I just sat down to watch the Cowboys game and poured a Crown 7 and coke then lit up what I had hoped would be a decent cigar (cuban seed hand rolled)
This thing is well, like just about every other cigar I have ever tasted, kinda bitter and burns my tongue.
I should have bought some cheap ol "backwoods cigars" mellow and aromatic and all natural
Whats a decent cigar? This cuban thing is like smoking a dog turd.
I like Macanuto (sp?) they are pretty mild....
I have heard those are good. I’ll give them a try.
I get tired of these 7~75 dollar a stick cigars that burn my tongue.
The Fuente Fuente Opus X line is good.
Thank you. I’ll give them a try
You say that like it's a bad thing ....
I would say that the first rule is a good cigar is one you like. Nobody you care about is keeping score.
But then there are some considerations of an objective kind, mostly having to do with how evenly it burns and how cool the smoke is as it comes to your mouth.
Like pipes and unlike cigarettes, cigars have a story. This is because the tobacco between you and the place where it's burning filters the smoke and traps moisture and delicious carcinogens. As you start, it should be cool and mild and tantalizing. What makes tobacco aromatic and poisonous is incomplete combustion. All these wonderful complicated chemicals need to survive the fire if you're going to have a good experience. So don't puff hard to get a flavorful mouthful at first. Just keep the fire burning. But the longer you smoke (and the shorter the smoke gets) the warmer the smoke, the richer the flavor, and the heavier the slug of nicotine per puff (and the more complaints from people who aren't also smoking a nice cigar). (And be a sport and dispose of the butts; a dead cigar is not a room freshener.) A good cigar approaches perfection asymptotically - just before it achieves apotheosis, there's nothing more to smoke, nothing between your lips and the fire.
Mind you. I quit because I want to be around to pester my grandchildren, if any, and I have a serious nicotine addiction issue. But if you really want to get some okay cigars these guys never sold anything I regretted buying.
Nasty little buggers.
The best cigars I have ever tasted are cheap old all natural backwoods cigars.
They taste good, they are cheap and women like the smell of them
Macanudo, Hoyo de Monterrey, Avo Pyramide
Spoken like a gentleman, and not an air of snobbery about it.
I should quit but damn it! I like smoking!
Actually, the Opus X is bit pricey. I have never spent that much on a cigar, only gotten them as gifts. I enjoyed every puff, too! But Fuente also makes good, reasonably priced cigars.
Now to make the real cigar aficionados cringe: I like Phillies Titans. For a cheap, factory made cigar, it’s not bad. Not a Fuente, but not bad.
Thats 2 votes for Macanudo
Some cigars are just a flat ass rip off
Arturo Fuente Curlyheads. Around $2.50 apiece, 95% of the time a good cigar.
Fortunately, I only smoke on special occasions, and I'm happy with the Titans. I do enjoy the Opus Xs when they are given to me, but I wouldn't pay 25 bucks for one. 25 bucks will buy a fifth of good tequila!
Now you're talking! Thanks. For $2.50, I'll give them a try.
Of course, cigars are a matter of taste. I tend to like a stronger cigar, which eliminates most of the Dominicans, which I find too mild. I only rarely smoke anything over four bucks. But price is quite variable. I like Punch Rothschild Maduros which might cost $3.50 for one, but come down to just a little over two bucks when one buys a box on the internet. My most expensive regular smoke is a Padron 2000 Maduro which costs about $3.75 when buying boxes. I also think the JR 1958 Counterfeit Cuban Gordito is a good smoke and slightly under two buck by the box.
Good hunting.

Thanks. All Cuban seed tobacco I have had is NASTY.
I prefer Connecticut broadleaf.
Why fund 3rd world stinkholes?
Thanks, for the tip
