Make that two of us! That family's life destroyed, his own life ruined, his family's life drastically altered, and all because he made a drunken trip to Taco Bell!
His brother said their sister was supposed to drive for them, but he left without telling anyone.
Innocent lives are destroyed every day by the same senselessness. The survivors will suffer forever as a result. It is past time for those who cause it to be held accountable for their actions.
Exactly. Nobody forced the guy to drink. If he’s going to do something that he knows is dangerous, then he should take the full responsibility for the consequences.
He needs to be charged with murder.
If someone accidentally shoots someone with a gun, THAT’S considered homicide. Same should go with driving drunk. It isn’t like there’s not enough warnings out there about it for anyone to even begin to claim they didn’t know.
Thanks for posting that link.
Did you notice that the brother’s page had his mood posted as “frisky” today???
I don’t know how ‘frisky’ I’d be feeling if my brother had just killed a bunch of kids and their mom, and he was justifiably facing a charge of vehicular homicide!
I had just read some from the link posted by CaliGirl-R.
The brother’s myspace page is linked. His mood today is “frisky”, of all things!
Yesterday on the brother’s page he had a tagline saying “Never take life seriously, nobody gets out alive anyways” with a glass of booze. How fitting. Now today it just says “Sam is taking a break”.
Like I said, I can’t let this story go yet. I’ve googled Michael and read lots of articles. One reported Michael was on suicide watch.
From reading Bethany’s (deceased mother) myspace page, she seemed like a cool lady.
Hopefully, he, his brother, and their cousins, are taking life more seriously today. Nobody gets out of life alive, but no one should have his/her life cut short because of someone else’s stupidity.
I gave up hope long ago that tragic deaths such as these would cause people to stop their drunken driving. They never seem to care until they’ve killed someone, or, in this case, wiped out a family.
Too few seem to learn from someone else’s mistakes. I’m just thankful that laws are changing in order to hold them accountable.
This was a stupid act that has destroyed two families. Our prayers go out to all involved, especially the family who lost so many members all at once through a stupid stupid act.
I don’t think so. He will spend many years behind bars, deservedly and sadly appropriate.
Our country’s record for punishing drunk driving murderers is disgusting. People are usually multiple offenders and they rarely serve much time for taking innocent lives away.
