The days when Iowa and NH picked the nominees are done. They are just a couple of rather insignificant warm ups to the important primaries in the next month or so.
I really hope you are right. The effort and money spent in Iowa for a handful of Iowans, and a very insignificant number of American voters at that, to decide which candidate should advance to the next level is ridiculous!
I agree. IMHO, whatever Iowa and NH once were, they are now make-work TVA projects for the media--who have to fill 24 hour news broadcasts with something, and the fantasy of influencing political process at the same time is incentive enough to cling to relics of times past. I'll be very surprised if the results track with what are still laughingly called polls. But even if they do, they'll reflect--what? The current sentiments of patrons of diners in two small states.
