RENO, Nev. – If you still have Christmas lights and decorations around the yard, the National Weather Service says you may want to take them down.

Strong winds are expected late Thursday and into Friday in front of a storm that is expected to bring several feet of snow to the Sierra and accumulations in the valleys.

Gusts to 60 miles an hour in the valleys of western Nevada are predicted.

In the Sierra, a winter storm watch has been issued for the Lake Tahoe region from Friday morning through Saturday. Forecasters say several feet of snow is anticipated.

In the Reno-Carson City area, the storm will start out as rain, with temperatures Friday in the 50s. But forecasters say temperatures will dive Friday night and Saturday, bringing snow to the valley floors.

I think it would be kind of funny to see a house floating down the street with its Christmas lights ablaze....as long as it wasnt mine!
