Zoo Visitor Says Men Roared At Tiger
SAN FRANCISCO -- A woman who was visiting the San Francisco Zoo on the day a tiger mauled three young men last week says she saw two of them taunting the animal.
Meanwhile, the zoo reopened Thursday amid a swirl of questions over the events that led to the death of one of the men.
Jennifer Miller told the San Francisco Chronicle that she was at the zoo with her husband and children and watched the young men roaring at the lions shortly before the tiger attack.

Now a newsie is reporting she saw two men taunting a TIGER.
Hmmm.
These TV/RADIO people would be better off in keeping the stories straight if they followed FreeRepublic Fur Shur.
My theory is that the female tiger had never seen a heterosexual male of any species at all in San Francisco, and she was merely curious.
Question: How incompetent do you have to be to get a job in the Drive-by Media? Answer: How incompetent you do want us?
The fence was about 3' from the enclosure and my wife went right up to the fence to get a close picture. The tiger came up to the fence, lifted its tail and "marked" my wife.
This is a great family legend. A couple of years late we went to Mom's birthday party and once again visited the Zoo. My daughter exclaimed, "There's Mom's Tiger!" I corrected my daughter saying, "No. Mom's the tiger's kitty litter!" Whereupon I got smacked "upside the head!" UffDah!
When I first posted this I thought it was new information.
But I now see that the headline does not match the story.
That happens more frequently than you might think. My mother-in-law (a great lady) volunteered as a doson at the Cheyenne Mtn. Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO. She was always alert to this when she was escorting a group in close proximity to the tigers or lions. Warning visitors to be watchful ... as it wasn't a pleasant experience to be marked by one of the big cats.
If they were brash enough to do this in front of witnesses, one can only imagine what they did after closing time.
Sure a lot of hill climbing at that zoo! Plus, at that altitude it seems like the elevations are in miles.
In other news, travelers driving throught parts of the American Midwest were seen lowering their car windows and mooing at cows...
Big differece-we eat cows, tigers eat... whatever they want.
difference...geeez
Just being in the confined space must drive her crazy. Those legs are made for running....the chase if you will.
She should have been put down a year ago.
wasn’t that a far side cartoon?
That would be your opinion, other's including experts feel differently.
It’s all about money!!
And the life of an extinct beautiful animal. Even a dog which isn’t restrained gets a free first bite and not be put down.
ROFLOL, guess you missed the part where the cops say there is no proof that this happened.
Ahem, it’s still under investigation.
Better!
