Here’s a link to a couple of interviews... She really seems like she’s got her head screwed on right. Good luck to ya, Chile!

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1583789/20080320/index.jhtml

Some highlights...

Q: Sometimes you had this look on your face like ‘’What the hell am I doing here?’’ Is that what you were feeling?

A: I thought that every day. But I wouldn’t have gotten recognized if I had not done the show. I don’t have it in me to come to L.A. and beat the pavement to be a rock star. That’s why I went to college and got a mortgage and got a career.

Q: Would you ever go back to being a nurse?

A: I might have to. You never know. Number 11 is still pretty far down there on the food chain. Hopefully I created enough attention that somebody wants to pick me up and let me do something with music. But chances are they won’t and I might end up right back where I started. I’ll probably give it a good six months or so and beat the pavement. If this ends up being my 15 minutes of fame I will gracefully bow out and move on to do something different. This will not be the unicorn I will chase for the rest of my life.

Q: Wow. That is so refreshing to hear. Usually when I do these interviews, the contestant talks on and on about how he or she is destined to be a star.

A: I hate those f-—king answers. Are you kidding me?

Q: Were you upset about the way things ended?

A: I just got voted off a TV show. I was just happy to be there and felt privileged to have millions of Americans vote for me just to keep me on until [the top] 11. With someone like me who’s completely different from — you know I’m cut out of a different mold [from] everyone else in the competition — I found that very, very warming that I had that much support.

Q: How driven are you to make it in show business?

A: I am a very driven person by nature, and I’m going to take a calculated route to achieve success, but, you know, everyone’s definition of success varies from person to person. Success to me is a strong, healthy family and success in whatever job that you do. ... If this is just 15 minutes of fame, I wouldn’t spend my whole life chasing to get it back. I’d move on. Hopefully, I make a career out of this, but it’s not going to be that unicorn that I keep chasing.

Andrew Lloyd Webber? An Idol mentor? Are you kidding me?

He’s a great composer and all, but we’re going to have SHOW TUNES WEEK???

Oh, this should be classic.

Back before Danjaya and the male nude stripper got voted off I commented on a 'show tunes week'. Guess I wasn't too far off! ;)

You've come to a hasty and undisciplined decision.

I don't think all the facts are in and further investigation is needed.

Weird article.
First she agrees with Simon, then she throttles him for it!

If folks stop watching AI, it won’t be because of Simon, IMO.

It’ll be because they never discovered jonny’s thread. “;^)

SJ understand this show has turned into a popularity contest. Amanda is a female version of Elvis. I liked her and thought she brought a different element to the show, but the Tennie Bopper's want Gnatboy and The Bleeding Heart Crybaby. Amanda is so lady Taylor Hicks. It would NEVER work again. I am surprised she did not at least make the top ten though.

In my opinion Brooke has the best chance of making it big in today's music world. I actually LOVE her voice. The way she arranged, "Your So Vain" and "Love Is A Battlefield" was simple and smart. Along with David C, they both have all the elements needed to make it. Watch David, he seems he might have a tendency to over do it.

It doesn't matter where they place in the compitition now, the question is, can they write their own music?
