How about this? We stop ‘hating’ the Pats and the Pats fan stop telling us how great they are? We can stipulate that the Pats have had the best season in the history of the NFL and that they have the best quarterback in the league (and possibly ever).

Enjoy your year. This undoubtedly will not come along again in your lifetime so enjoy. But if the rest of us don’t want to hear about how great they are you will just have to understand that is the THE ONLY THING WE HAVE HEARD FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS NONSTOP ON ESPN, FOX SPORTS, 60 MINUTES, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, ETC, ETC, ETC, ETC, ETC.

‘Kay?

Not to be a wise guy but I don’t usually watch ESPN, FOX SPORTS, 60 MINUTES, or GOOD MORNING AMERICA. Does the Fox News Channel count? I’m not much of a TV watcher, have caught about 1/2 their games.

I am guilty of too much You Tube - sorry.

exactly, seven years of cheating and being caught by the nfl, and having krafts buddy sweep it under the rug.....no matter what, the cheatriots will never truly enjoy it if they win it all, as the shadows of scandal will follow them all the days of their lives.....

I guess you’ll have to take my word for it. The Pats were even on Fox News this morning for almost a solid hour - on a freaking news channel! You can’t turn on ESPN without having to do at least two segments each hour about the Pats, Brady, Belichick or something related to one of them. Its just Pats Central even on channels which don’t broadcast sports.

To me, its like hockey news. I know it exists and I know there are some people who like it but to me it is just the annoying stuff in between actual sports highlights. While I am a big football fan, I already know everything about the Pats. And the endless wonderment is just endless overkill to everybody who isn’t a Pats fan. Not like they don’t deserve every accolade they’ll gotten but since there is nothing else in sports to talk about right now its all-Pats all-the-time. I don’t ‘want’ to hate them but I’m reaching the point already where I can either hate them, shoot myself or just sell my soul and join the bandwagon (Like people in the 90s did when the Chicago Bulls were on TV virtually everywhere each spring).

And now, two of the bluest cities in North America will be in the Super Bowl. I’m going to have to stop watching any sports channel for the next three weeks to keep from hurling. If only the Pats were from a place which is not so repugnant in so many other ways, I would be agnostic like I am about most teams. And anything which makes people in socialist enclaves happy tends to annoy me since they deserve to be as unhappy as their policies ensure they will be and sports teams have literally nothing to do with the local city aside from the owner (players are all from different places, virtually none of them actually live in the city they play in, teams are only geographically located because of a stadium, etc).

I definitely won’t celebrate in the unbelievably unlikely circumstance that Eli Mediocre Manning manages to win the SB just to revel in the Pats fan unhappiness. I just will be happy when I don’t have to hear about it until next season.

Good Luck to your guys on Sunday. Even though I won’t be watching the game I am metaphysically positive that I will find out the outcome - repeatedly. And I hold no hard feeling against you at all for being on cloud nine since I remember when I was in the same spot a decade ago.
