No, it wasn’t you. I just don’t know anything about heat pumps.
A repairman came out and fixed it. Freezing rain had fallen several days ago and run off the roof and overwhelmed the ability of the defroster to keep up. It wasn’t a high charge, but I had tried to clear the ice out and couldn’t do it.
I also bought that kerosene heater I mentioned. Everything was a couple of hundred dollars, just thank God I had it to spend.
I just couldn’t take being ice cold anymore. I’m sitting here now really warm, I can’t get the place warm enough to suit me right now.
I’m still wearing a jacket, corduroy jeans, and two shirts and shoes, have the heater on and running the kerosene heater.
And drinking a hot drink. :)
Watch that kerosene heater use on the inside of the house. You could generate dangerous amounts of carbon monoxide, because it’s not vented to the outside.
I’m happy to hear that you were able to get it corrected. It’s also good that you can be grateful for the fact that you could afford to pay for it. Most of us forget that at times like that. Be warm and cozy.
Be careful of the propane heaters. They can emit deadly amounts of Carbon Monoxide (CO). Before putting it in service, please make sure you have a CO detector in your house.
