Osceola Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Student (Florida)

ST. CLOUD | An Osceola County teacher was arrested today and charged with having sex with a student, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives arrested Sarah Elizabeth Joel and charged her with three counts of lewd and lascivious battery. She is being held at the Osceola County jail without bail. The investigation began early this morning when a teacher at Harmony High School told deputies one of her students was suspected of having sex with his former teacher.
The student said he was an eighth grader last year at Narcoossee Community School and Joel was his teacher. They began a sexual relationship late last year, the Sheriff’s Office said. Joel is currently a teacher at Narcoossee Community School.
Joel and the student both cooperated with detectives, the Sheriff’s Office said.
