Is that Liddy? Oh, what the hell was he peddling like a mad man a while back? Whatever it was, it blew my fricking mind. It was an over the counter cure all, making the kind of claims that you see being ridiculed in textbooks from the traveling salesman of the 1800s. The idea that a man of his stature and learning would stoop so low left me speechless.

the wars still rage here and always will, i guess it will always be something.

Happens every Presidential Primary (unless we have an incumbent).

We had an appointment last month to attend a meeting with Direct Buy. I was really looking forward to it. But it troubled me when the sales rep said I need to bring an ID and a valid credit card. We bowed out of the appointment.

Direct Buy is for those who are building a house that was destroyed by a fire, flood, or some other disaster and have nothing. If you’re a reasonable adult with a fair accumulation of things then it’s not such a good deal.

Take the scam claims with a grain of salt and conider where you are in life. What will you need to purchase to break even or do better. It’s in the neighborhood of $20K of purchases to break even.

Wife and I took the Direct Buy pitch and decided that it was not for us, because the break-even point was too high.

If I rememeber correctly it was like $5K to buy in.

I looked at their web sit and you get zero information, unless you attend their seminars.

Banned? How is it that you are back then? Perhaps you were given a time out while you were joining in the Freeper bashing at WA.

It wasn't Liddy (they don't play him in my market). It is a local Seattle guy, David Boze. I don't understand how these guys can plug such obviously phony crap without suffering any damage to their reputations as a result.

What disturbs me even more, however, is what it says about talk radio listeners in general. I would like to think that people listening to talk radio are more intelligent than most; but these scamsters wouldn't be focusing all their advertising on radio if there wasn't a payoff. Hopefully they're doing the same thing on the liberal talk stations.

Very funny. :-)

When I get telemarketing calls at dinner time and they ask for me I tell them “hold on” and then hand the phone to my toddler. He seems to enjoy talking with them more than me.

I love your post gitmo.

Cincinatus and I TOLD the agent (in the boiler room, where they take all your personal info, I suspect now to know if you have enough money for them to take..and you have to have both partners, just like Direct Buy) that we had NO intention of buying anything, that we only wanted tickets. After that invasion, a guy came by to be our “best friend” and tell us how he was raising his son because he had married such a rotten woman. After that weird encounter, the sales gal drove us around to look at properties and gave us the full pitch, when we got back we saw the big book of vacations (you deserve vacations). When we had the “gall” to declined their stupid pitch, the guy with the “rotten wife” was called back into the boiler room to implyng (in outrage) she hadn’t done her job because she didn’t close the sale, making us feel she was in trouble and said we were stupid to to pass on this and after we even passed on his “today for you offer” he stood up and walked away (I’m squeezing a VERY LONG day into a short period because this is as much making me angry and laughing in memory). THEN another guy guided us out to get our show tickets and sat us down and said he had NOTHING to do with these people but that HE had a better offer......unbelievable, laughable, another word????. we finally got the tickets and knew all about time shares and scams.

Wide Awakes.

I’ve been there and enjoy that site.

What have I said? I haven’t been on this site or theirs for a long time.

Why the site baiting?

Are you one of those who work to keep conservatives apart.

If not, I apologize.

Nope, just laughing at those who bashed us, calling us all sorts of names them coming back as if nothing happened.

Enjoy your return to FR.

LOL! That's great.

Listen to this. How to handle a telemarketer. Make sure you have no food or drink in your mouth.

btw

I was banned before I signed up at WA.

I posted there for a short while until I was tired of the entire back biting tactics of FR and then futile fending off and asking for good behavior from bad posting and anger and venting from fleeing/banned FR posters to WA to a very good blogger/commentator/host MadIvon.

I just walked because it all was so pointless to continue. I guess I’m I wimp.

As I said before, perhaps you were given a time out because an outright banning usually loses your name forever.

So are you still claiming we are back biters here, if so why did you come back?

A few years ago before I got on the Do Not Call List, a telemarketer called me about a “free”, “all expense paid” weekend getaway just to hear a one hour sales pitch on their time shares.

I let him go on and on, occasionally feigning interest by asking questions and saying things like “Really?” and “Oh Wow. That sounds so nice” and “I could really use a getaway”.

At the end of his sales pitch I asked him to tell me again where it was located. He said “Virginia”.

“Virginia? That’s a bummer. I can’t go to Virginia”

“Why? It’s not that far” he said.

And I said “I can’t leave the state of Maryland right now.”

“What do you mean you can’t leave Maryland?”

“If I leave the state of Maryland, I’d be in violation of my parole”.

“Click”
