I have discussed with John Robinson at length about it and he feels handcuffed because of the vocal minority refusing to accept even convenience changes
I have no doubt that upgrading needs to be done. But to change or become the norm as to what others are doing isn’t always the best.
I look at the posted articles pages once in a while. But my basic operating preference on FR is using the latest comments page. The old way you could get on it and refresh it as you wanted. Now you get on it and refresh it and it goes back to the articles pages. Then you have to select comments and let that reload.
The simple solution is to allow those that like to use the latest coments page and refresh it without having to go back to the articles page is to allow a ‘tag’ or whatever is necessary to accomplish that....
Is that unreasonable?
Refreshing latest comments stays with latest comments for me at this time.
I just mean from navigation. Its all over the board. I think half the design is just to save bandwidth when that shouldnt be much of a problem these days. Very 1999 thinking. So many options out there for chaching optimization. Though I know next to nothing with perl which is what FR is written in.
