Protester's just don't get it! (My First Vanity)

I just saw a picture on the front page of my local paper showing an Anti-Iraq war protestor holding a sign with a picture on it that said "President Bush, You Killed My Son", with a photo of a man in an Army Dress Uniform. As a Veteran and a Navy Retiree, it just made my blood boil. This person,(the Soldiers Mother I guess)should have realized that when her "Little Boy" joined the US Military, that he was not going to be going to a regular 9 to 5 job! The contract that every Military Recruit signs states that the person understands that they are signing up for an inherently dangerous job, even in peacetime (ever hear of "Training Accidents"?) and it is all spelled out before they hold up their hands and take the oath.

When is the Country going to wake up and understand that the Military is NOT a means for a Government paid education and a place for people who cannot find a job a relatively easy (after Basic Training that is)paycheck, at least not since after VietNam. I can't tell you how many Reservists I heard while at Ft Dix NRC state when this all started, "Hey, I didn't sign up for this!", when in fact, it's EXACTLY what they signed up for, PROTECTING THE COUNTRY!!!!

Anyone who is thinking of joining the Military should REALLY think of the reasons they are joining, is it for protecting the Country, against all ENEMIES, Foreign and Domestic, or is it for a possible cushy job in a Military office, pushing paper, drinking coffee and Uncle Sam (Us, the US Taxpayer)giving you a free education. Take your time.

To the Anti-War "Mother", get a grip!!! Your boy died in the service of his Country. It is a bitter pill to swallow, but he read the contract and agreed to it of his own free will. You shouldn't sully his memory by blaming the wrong person. If you want someone to blame, try the Folks across the pond who believe that Muhammad is the "One, True Prophet" and want to destroy everyone else who doesn't believe it.

Rant off......Asbestos Suit on....go ahead....

What is tragic about that Mom is that she is being used and abused by the extreme left. If you read the articles on GSFP they promote anger. Anger is a natural phase of the grief process and feeding the anger most likely will cause someone to arrest at that stage of grief. Not properly working through grief can cause extreme misery and a deterioration in mental health.

They also work on the guilt of parents who allowed a 17 year old to enlist which really puts the whammy on a healthy resolution.
