Known as the "Shameless" family among horrified neighbours, the McFaddens "boast" three generations of adults who are not working.
All ten members of the clan share a council house and live off benefits amounting to around £32,000 a year. And very happy they are, too.

“The only problem is,” she says without a hint of irony, “that we’re living in a three-bedroom council house, which is ridiculous.
“I’m asking the council for a ten-bedroom home for all of us. We need more space. It’s awful sometimes when all the children are squabbling. Still, we do have a big TV with Sky, but we need some relaxation.”
WOW, this would be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad.

The adults need to be made to disappear I disagree. It's the nanny state that should disappear.
Besides, why are we kicking the Brits about this? Haven't we fostered our own multi-generational welfare class?

Daisy: Why are you reading the Financial Times, Onslow?
Onslow: I like to keep an eye on the economy. A bloke in my position has to wonder how long the country can afford him. If we don't get the economy right, people like me are gonna be in trouble!

So who is the effeminate in the picture?
To: Fido969
"It's a real struggle. I spend £10 a week on cigarettes, but I can't afford to go out and I haven't got lots of expensive gadgets, just a portable TV in my lounge. Watching TV is all I do most days. I watch the soaps and The Jeremy Kyle Show. I'm used to this way of life now." But what aspirations does this mother have for her own daughter to break free of the poverty trap? Ann shrugs: "When Emma was at school, I'd try to encourage her to work harder than I did, but I don't suppose I was a very good role model. ROFLOLOLOL!!!

A newspaper dare write about such people there. You think a US newspaper would dare write about such families here?

The story was about a British family, thats why. No schit, sherlock.
Make the nanny state AND its addicts disappear then!
It kinda follows that no nanny state would force the disappearance of the addicts.

"But the truth is when I left school I couldn't be bothered to work. There wasn't anything I wanted to do other than be a singer. I got pregnant not long after, but the father's never been around. Now I get £100 a week in benefits, income support, child benefit and tax credits. She is effectively married to the State.
