I accidentally turned my wheelchair over and scraped my ankle. The scrape refused to heal./snip/
He wrapped my feet and legs in a compression bandage and sent me home.
My heart goes out to you JimRob, and my prayers are with you.
My dad fought with a similar issue for 4 years, which began from wearing a special boot he had to wear to take pressure off of his achilles tendon. The area turned black, skin sloughed off, and it oozed. Surrounding skin began to peel and deteriorate as well, from edema. He went through anti-biotics, creams, tests, infections, etc. Finally a VA Dr at the Urgent Care Clinic sent him to a Wound Care Specialist who ordered him to wear a compression bandage and gave him a salve. Wish I knew the name of that salve! The Wound Care Spec also ordered him to discontinue wearing the boot. In just 3 weeks his leg, ankle and foot showed signs of healing. After 2 months wearing the compression stocking all-day every day he was reduced to wearing it just 8 hours each day and was eventually withdrawn from the bandage. His leg is fully recovered now... and he still doesn't need the boot.
A rather long tale, but the point is to illustrate that miracles DO happen. I'm praying for you to receive a miracle. Keep the Faith!
Blessings your way and Prayers UP
Brat, I’ll bet you’re referring to an Una boot and Silvadene Creme.
We’re going thru something very similar with a family member. The Una boot treatment was used for years as ours is a recurring issue, but it isn’t working anymore in our case. However, ours has always been arterial.
Jim, I would very much appreciate it if you’d put me on your pings for this so I can keep up with your treatments. So far, they’re identical.
