Edwards says he's staying with Roush Fenway

RICHMOND, Va. - Carl Edwards said Friday he has signed a multiyear contract extension with Roush Fenway Racing, ending any speculation he could move to another organization.
“I'm staying with Roush. I looked at everything and I talked to everybody,” said Edwards. “For me, the No. 1 thing is looking into the future and saying, ‘Where can I win the most races and have the most success?’ “
Edwards, who negotiated his own deal with Geoff Smith, Roush Fenway Racing’s president, said he saw that future with Roush.
“I was honored at the people who I got to speak with (other car owners) and I just feel like for me, personally, this is where I want to be.”
Since moving into a Cup car at Roush in the middle of the 2004 season, Edwards has 10 wins, three poles and has twice qualified for the 10-race Chase.
He is currently 10th in points with three wins this season.
