Authorities say a 7-year-old girl accidentally shot her sleeping mother twice in a South Florida neighborhood, but the woman is expected to recover.
Authorities say 38-year-old Sharda Brijmohan was asleep in her bedroom Friday when her daughter walked over to a nightstand and picked up a handgun. Authorities say it accidentally fired. She was shot once in the forearm and once in the neck.
Paramedics drove the woman to Delray Medical Center, where she's expected to recover.

At seven I knew full well what a gun was and how to use it properly...and where the keys to the gun cabinet were.

Yea she keeps getting cuter too. Already bought her a pink cricket .22lr too for when she can recite the 4 rules and hold it by herself properly. Yea wife thought I was nuts buying it for her before she was even born :)

When I accidently shot my mom twice, I was about 9, she just said, “Honey, go outside and play”. Ma, I miss ya, but I didn’t miss that day that’s for sure!

I’ll bet the girl fired only once and the mom suffered two wounds when the round went through her forearm and then hit her neck.
Depends if it was semi-automatic or not... if it wasn’t, wouldn’t the girl have had to cock it or something between shots? However, if it was, I could see her accidentally firing it, then squeezing the trigger again in the surprise and confusion resulting from the loud noise guns usually make when they fire.
