Go Biało-Czerwoni!
ahh...a fellow fan of the boys from Poland...
Allez Bleus - Go France!
It really surprised me that this is their first Championship appearance, despite all of those great teams they had in the 70s and 80s.
Just beating ‘Die Mannschaft’ will make this tournament a success.
Bummer ...thought it was about the imminent demise of the Euro...
Yeah, I’ll have to go through some of the old 2006 WC threads (when did soccer_manic get banned), and get the names from there.
Forza Azzuri!!
Ping for Euro 2008!
Football! Woohoo ... yessss.
Oh! ... and thanx for the ping!
I am disappointed that England is not in...Which team do I “support”?
There are some teams I won’t support...Russia and Greece. I do like Guus Hiddink, the Russian manager. However, I don’t like Putin too much. I don’t think Greece has ever been “pro-US”. I am not sure if I will “support” Spain...Present Spanish govt is not too friendly with US. (Pro-US prime minister was voted out.)
I am interested in following certain teams...Portugal...I do want to see how Cristiano Ronaldo does. (He might leave Man U.) France...How would T Henry do? Germany...How would Ballack do?
Game One: Czech Republic vs Switzerland
The Czechs should be considered one of the favorites, they last won as Czechoslovakia in 1976. Can the home team pull off the upset?
Thanks for the ping. I’ll cast my vote for Italy as the winner, with...oh what the hell, Romania as the dark horse.
I was less than impressed with the Czechs, they made a lot of mistakes that a better team would have cashed in.
Portugal, on the other hand, looked real good. Hit the woodwork 3 times, they should have had 4 or 5 goals instead of 2.
Gonna be tough for the Czechs without “little Mozart”, Rosicky.
The good news, a Pole scored both goals. The bad news, it was Podolski.
The Poles just gave the Germans that second goal. Ah well.
I’m rooting for France, but don’t tell anyone on Free Republic, they’ll kick me off.
Yep, that second goal was ridiculous.
BTW USA-Argentina 0-0 at halftime.
Well at least the USA’s performance tonight against Argentina put me in a better mood. The 0-0 result pretty much was indicative that the USA held their own against the world’s number one team.
