Vanity Cold Virgin Drinks at the Nightclubs.
6-08

Posted on 06/10/2008 4:25:04 AM PDT by Global2010

What are some good ice slushy, low sugar non alchohol drinks to enjoy when out nightclubbin'.

I am going to the big city on an overnight vacation and plan to go to jazz and other dance clubs.

It is my first respite overnight in many years. Staying in a 4 star Hotel in the Pearl District in Portland Oregon.

The plan is to walk everywhere starting in the afternoon to shops and into the night to the jazz and dance clubs.

Even might hop on the Max Train if I venture out further.

Have it all mapped out down to a VIP Heat packin' Bodyguard....single woman alone and have to get home in one peice to resume careproviding for King Vanity.

I want to order exotic drinks minus the booze. So what are some names of non booze drinks to order. I don't know about names/contents of the one that do have booze let alone the non ones.

I know cranberry and spritzer.

I like slushy ice drinks. Read about one with Mint Lime in blended ice but not name was given.

Want juice type not interested in plain diet soda...this is a big special respite care trip and want to enjoy every second walking around sky larking taking in this rare time of personal enjoyment.

Also anyone familiar with the Pearl District I encourage comments.

I have google the area and comments on shops/clubs ect.

Have 36 hours to hike through the concrete jungle then this rural Coast Oregonian has to be home or I will turn into a big banana slug.

I think the drink you’re describing is commonly referred to as a “Slurpee.”

Non-alcohol drinks, suitable for a night on the town? Sorry, can't help (with the drinks). I admire your discipline, however.

I suppose that, if you find someplace that doesn't have one of those slushly-thingies, you could ask for a virgin seabreeze, which I recall is a mixture of grapefruit juice and cranberry juice sans vodka. You could ask the bartender to put some shaved ice into it . . . I know if I did I'd be tossed-out of the places I go to.

Try a virgin frozen margarita. Many bars have non-alcohol frozen drinks already in the machines. You don't have to drink alcohol to be cool, as long as you're wearing Oakley shades.

I just stick to tonic water and try to remember my sponsor’s advice that if I hang around the barbershop long enough, I’m gonna get a haircut.

Frozen foo foo drinks with umbrellas and such drive bartenders crazy when they are busy.

Be careful if you are out alone. They haul conservatives off the streets at night for indoctrination and mental rehabilitation

One of the reasons I recommended the virgin seabreeze. The bartender can simply toss in some ice cubes, mix the two ingredients, and go. And it’s a good (and tasty) drink to keep yourself hydrated.

Fortunelty for me temptation is not an issue with booze.

I dont enjoy it and it hurts makes my muscles ache.

My temptation and I WILL give into it is going to be sampling chocolates and other goodies that I do not normally munch on.

Looking to have a good time sojourning through the social scene what ever that may end up being within my own tastes.

One last word of advice (only because you are finally busting out of the convent). Due to the prevalence of club-goers under the influence of Ecstasy, nightclubs have begun charging more for non-alcoholic drinks (apparently, they don't drink alcohol because of side-effects). So 1. expect people to assume you are zoomin', and 2. don't get snippy about the cost. The days of the designated-driver getting a break are past.

People under the influence of Ecstasy are not dangerous (in my experience), and fun to watch. It's also fun to watch them getting busted by undercover narcotics officers, while you are taking a break from the dance floor.

Thanks for the good advice.
Zoomin so that is what they call it.

I have been on the job as KV’s back watcher out at clubs and saw a guy dancing in his own little world which reminded me of the charactoristics of a profoundly afflicted autistic person.

He must have been zoomin. LoL

I will keep the $5’s and ones in a roll for my beverages.

This thread rocks. Seriously, I’m laughing my @$$ off here !

When I go to bars, I drink their well orange juice. It’s not a real orange juice, much more a watered down, Citgo inspired version of it. But they know I’m a biker, and they tend to even make the drink free because of it.

Like was mentioned, in a busy bar - keeping the drinks simple and the first few tips high pays off.

Just to add to what 1rudeboy said.

If you are going to stay at one club for a while, tell the bartender what you are doing and tip him/her well for helping you out. Try to use the same bartender for each refill and you will get better service, and maybe some more imaginative N/A drinks.

Have fun.

Thanks.

I love to people watch.

I enjoy dancing.

Not looking for Mr. Goodbar.

Just some fun lite social time on this rare occasion of having some Me time.

When I am working as KVs assist where he dances at our local Casino they have that type of Orange juice you mentioned.

Free juice dispenser and so I mix cran/tea or orange/cran ect ect to keep my energy up as it is a whole different physiology to making a wheel chair dance and blend in as the pushee.

Cant wait to cut loose without my best friend and Siamese twin.

I have had this song in my head all morning:

After three good years together
We had our first big fight
So she went to her mother's
And I went for a drive
Down that old familiar highway
Just a few miles out of town
To that run-down one-room tavern
That used to be my stompin' grounds

When I pulled into the driveway
Everything still looked the same
And I couldn't wait to down a few
And hear that jukebox ring
But when I walked in through the doorway
There stood some kind of maitre'd And he looked me up, and he looked me down, and said,
"Can I help you please?"
And I said,

[chorus]
What'd you do with those swingin' doors?
And where's the sawdust on the floor?
Why's everybody wearin' suits and ties?
From where I stand I can't believe my eyes
And whose idea was it to hang these ferns?
This brand-new bar don't have a single burn
I guess I'm somewhere that I don't belong
I need a juke box with a country song

When I looked into the corner
Where the jukebox once stood proud
Some clown was playin' records
Too fast, too long, and too loud
Well it must've been a big mistake
To try to speak my mind
But as they were askin' me to leave
I cried out one more time,

[repeat chorus]

Finish your drink before you head out on the dance floor, or you may come back to find it spiked.
