Im just kind of wondering...
When does it become necessary to split up?
In any relationship, sometimes things get to the point that there are irreconcilable differences. The people involved just cant get along any longer and are making each others lives miserable. They have nothing in common, do not agree on anything and do not care what the other thinks. At that point I think its best to end the unhealthy relationship and go about forming new ones.
Im not talking about the relationship between two people, Im talking about the abusive relationship between "conservatives" and "liberals" or otherwise those people who value individual freedom and those who value being a slave to the socialist collective.
This relationship cannot continue. We have nothing in common, we agree on nothing, and we simply don't want/care to hear what the other says. There is no trust and there is no common ground. All thats left are two "people" who cant stand each other trying to tell the other how to live.
My thought on this is that we would all be better off if we just went our own way. This union of states could dissolve their "relationship" and reform new ones based on common interests. But how realistic is that? Can it be done in a civil manner? or will force be required?
Personally, I think its time to talk about this. Its time to seriously look into what it would take to make this happen. We just cant continue to stay in this abusive relationship any longer.
Honestly, I don't care how it gets done and I don't care where I have to move to and I don't really care that Ill have to start over. I just cant stand living with these people any longer.
I dont want to follow their rules or pray to their gods. I dont want to be subject to their social engineering. Im just sick of being the D cell battery that keeps the socialist machine running. Me and the money I earn are NOT a resource for anyone to use as they see fit.

Discussing this last night, at a bar with a friend and fellow Freeper.
The bar was celebrating something from a Democratic state candidate. I would go on to say that they were celebrating something of substance, but they stand for nothing of substance so I guess they were just there to spend some tax dollars on fruity drinks.
And looking around, we were pretty sure we were the only conservatives there. So we discussed some of this, I on the stance that there will be another neighbor-on-neighbor civil war.
He asked me where they will get the guns. The conversation was over, the tab was settled up.

The war between the states was fought because of states' rights, but the ONLY right at issue was the right to own slaves. There would have been no Civil War if the South had voluntarilly abandoned slavery.

my spouse is a kennedy democrat and is becoming more and more disillusioned with the antics of the current crop of democrats; there will soon, i hope, be one voter leaving the democrat party.
after that, if they enter upon my property i will insist that they leave. if they do not i will swear out a trespass complaint and have them arrested, every single arrogant one of them.

Instead of spending time wondering about where the lines would theoretically be drawn, let me propose something to you.
Find a state where there are many who share your social and political views. Some are Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Alaska.
Start a job search now. Don’t piddle around waiting for the clouds to open and give us a real conservative. Don’t wait for your hopes to be fulfilled. Start DOING. And start doing it today.
Get a job where you will move. Move there.
In the interim, start spending your money as cautiously as possible. If a company is staffed by socialists, don’t do any business with them. Hit mail order if necessary - but give no more money to your enemies.
Cut all ties to socialists. Explain to them, without heat, that Socialism is the same as Slavery and you will not do business or associate with slavers of any stripe. Cut them out of your life. Ignore them as much as legally possible. Shun them.
Move to a free state and consolidate your life. Buy reloading supplies and ammo just in case. Also, invest in non-perishable supplies in order to ensure that your ability to survive bad times is enhanced.
Keep in mind that quality of life has only a passing relationship to income levels. Be involved in your new hometown, and be well-informed in all levels of local political arenas.
Be polite and ensure that you present your position with good cheer and with firmness. Keep America alive, because it lives only when men and women live up to its’ standards at home.
What needs to separate are people - and how you do it is by simply informing the socialists that they are not tolerated and will never be. Then, after informing them of the truth, cut them off and have no dealings with them if at all possible. Do not reward treachery. Be unafraid of naming treachery for what it is.

I think a representative republic would be fine. Take the US constitution and “enhance” it with a bit more clarity on what the branches of government can and cant do.
I dont really care if I live in a country with “liberal” people. I just dont want them to be able to impose their beliefs on me, through the misinterpretation of the founding documents.
There are no utopias, but we can do MUCH better than what we have today...

I look at a country the same way I look at a political party. the names stay the same but the ideas and philosophies that drive them can change. I think the founding documents and the ideas behind them are what deserves being preserved. The geological map of a country is pretty meaningless in reference to the issues we are discussing.
Your comment of “there is no better country than the USA” is really kind of meaningless unless put into perspective. Do you mean the geographic map of the US? Or do you mean the principles it was founded on that have been almost entirely abandoned?
Extremely well said. My thoughts, exactly. Just for sanity’s sake, I must surround myself with like-minded people. Socialism is the enemy of my freedom and prosperity and I will treat it and it’s useful idiots as such.
I intended no hidden meaning or nuance. I believe that the USA as it is today is the greatest country on earth. If you want to change it there is a process in place.

That's a load of crap. When this country was founded you needed to be a property owner in order to vote.
The franchise has ALWAYS been limited in this country.

I dont believe you intended anything hidden. I simply pointed out that your comment is pointless unless you put it in perspective. Dont sweat it tho, your not the only person who has issues understanding the difference between loving your country and loving what your country stands for.
I can say that I love the founding principles of this country. However I do NOT love what this country has become through the influence of collectivists.
Its the same reason Ive abandoned the republican party. I believe in certain things. If the party or country no longer supports those things, then I cannot support the party or country. Is this really that hard of a concept to understand?
You really should study some history about property and other requirements for voting.
As a conservative I had often though about how it would be if we were to cut this country in two, right down the middle, a blue half and a red half. I don’t give a damn which half is which, left coast, right coast, bottom half, top half, it makes no difference, because my half would be the far better half in the future. Dumbocrats realize this and would cling to us parasitic teenagers with black lipstick and streaking mascara.
