An attempted bank robbery in Canton played out like a scene from a movie Monday when a man who claimed to have a bomb was stopped by a customer armed with a pistol.
According to police, the customer pulled out a .9 mm handgun (for which he had a CCW permit), racked a bullet in the chamber, pointed it at the man and announced, "You are not robbing this bank!"

“”You are not robbing this bank!”
Sounds like a great program to have in place.
“.9 mm”
Sigh...
Michigan? Wow. I would not be surprised if this happened in Canton, Texas, but Canton, Michigan.
The man behind the gun didn’t back down when the would-be robber said he had a bomb. Good for him.
I noticed that, too.
And the armed customer is damn lucky he had time to rack the slide. That's why I like to carry a DA/SA gun with a round in the chamber and the hammer down. But either way, good for him!
Wow, I hope they don’t go after this guy. I’m not sure about Michigan, but a lot of concealed carry permits exclude, bars, banks, federal buildings...
That is about 1/2 of one BB.

I can draw my Kel-Tec 3AT (.380) from my front pocket and rack it with almost one single movement, and bring it to aim all within 2-3 seconds at most.
The Asian, or Japanese hornet is the largest and most fearsome hornet in the world. It can be as big as 45 mm long (that's almost 2 inches), and its stinger is over 6 mm in length (a quarter of an inch!).
The venom from this hornet contains an enzyme which will dissolve bone and tissue, and can be fatal if the person stung is small, or has an allergic reaction. More than 40 people are killed each year by stings from this hornet. Those who have been stung and lived have described its sting as excruciatingly painful.
Check it out ... in Michigan, of all places.
“my gub trumps your bimb”
The pistol was controlled properly at all time;
the criminal was immediately taken under control, and
the situation was under control.
Another situation resolve effectively and efficiently with proper gun control.
WIMP! Should've already had a round chambered.
0.9 mm is roughly 0.035 inches - a fifth of a BB.
The order of events seems wrong and something’s missing. It should have read:
POW!
“You are not robbing this bank”.
GP-100. .357 Federal Hydra Shocks. No racking needed. No casings left behind.
But could you not draw and fire quicker with one in the pipe? And what if your rack hand is shot up? Don't get me wrong. I can appreciate the idea of keeping a clean chamber especially with a pocket mouser. I'd hate to blow my kneecap off by fishing for my keys. That's why I'm not a big fan of striker-fired guns for CCW.
Countdown to the gun snobs complaining about the caliber or brand name of the gun or that the guy wasn’t using the proper stance or something.
