I have a Vista laptop on it’s way next week. I’d heard that the newest Vista SP helped out with a lot of the bugs.

I guess we’ll see.

I have been running Vista Ultimate for about a month now and have to say I haven't had any problems as of yet...It's fast has some good junk it's like XP on steroids.
the only thing I would recommend is that you have at lest 2 gigs of DDR2 memory

and for your mac people I also own a mac pro and I love it ...I use it mostly for my home recording studio

I ran a XP DEll for three years bought a new Dell 1525 last month with Vista. I am completely satisfied with Vista

Hope you got the 2.83ghz Quad-Core...Vista is 2X slower than XP, and needs 2 gigs of RAM to be minimally happy.
