What was strange is that I uninstalled KB951748 on my account and could surf the web. Later in the day, I called my wife from work, she couldn't access the web on her account. She had to (re?)uninstall KB951748 from her account.
She can surf the web but had problems with using certain features on E-Bay, yet I can use them no problem. Grrr..

Aww jeez, I hope they’re not going to install this at the state that I work for, we’ve got over 10,000 PC’s on the network.
Had to put in a report on that one, since the other PC on Vista doesn't do that with the setting at Download and install at logoff.
If anyone goes back as far as DOS 6.0, you remember the nightmares that started, and the length of time to get them all fixed. What I find funny is all the XP users crying about an update after they swore XP was a 'solid' OS finally.

I have mine turned off, yet I have the yellow shield icon at the bottom. How can I get rid of it?
On my other computer I just ignored it and it installed some updates anyway. I would like to stop it on this computer.
Comodo is solid for me on XP.
I had an issue with one install,
during the early transition to the
updated interface.
Since then,I have had no issues.
When installing new apps,it will pester you with popups
until you click to treat it as an “installer”.
Do this right in the little pop-up window.
After a few minutes,it asks if you want to go back to normal. “Yup”.
Other than that,it is transparent.
Kim Kommando mentioned it on her radio show.
I pretty much would do whatever she told me.
She never calls though.
I hate when that happens.

I've been pinging the news sites periodically waiting for a ZA patch to be released. The option of setting access to medium is working right now while I wait on a more formal ZA release update.

I have the yellow shield icon at the bottom. I don’t know how to get rid of it, since a tiny icon down there doesn’t bother me in any way whatsoever.
I do eventually install quite a few of the M-soft updates, but by having automatic updates turned off, it gives me the ability to go thru the list of updates available at my convenience, and pick and choose what I want to download and install. I don’t do this very frequently, as I give time to let the automatic updaters be the guinea pigs to find out if there are any problems with any of the updats. It also gives me the opportunity to do any quick research online, if I suspect for any reason that a particular update might be causing others problems.
I have found that in the last few years, when M-soft comes out with new versions of their programs that are packaged with XP, more often than not, in my opinion, the old ones work better. For example, I found that versions of Windows Media Player after version 10 do not work as well as 10, so I repeatedly ignore ‘reminders’ that they have an updated version for me. I also use an older version of IE, as I have used the newer versions, and do not like them.
Thanks for the ZA heads up. I also I downloaded the new version and then re-installed the patch. Everything seems to be working fine.
And Babu-I learned my lesson and won’t be turning windows automatic update back on.
