Everything is fine now after I uninstalled the patch and disabled automatic windows updates.

I have mine turned off, yet I have the yellow shield icon at the bottom. How can I get rid of it?

On my other computer I just ignored it and it installed some updates anyway. I would like to stop it on this computer.
