Some industry insiders are beginning to wonder whether Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair shoot might have been a well-orchestrated blessing in disguise for the Hannah Montana star and her career.

Just creepy.

Yuck!
If her father would start being her father instead of trying to continue his 15 minutes a little longer by riding her popularity, this wouldn’t be happening... he USED to be strict with her and then it was like he just gave up.
I agree - and I think all of the Hannah Mania is really about reviving his career.
Why would anyone want to sexualize a child? She has had enormous success being a clean cut innocent girl. I can’t believe she wants to be pimped out. She is headed down the same path of Britney Spears.
Sorry, not raising a bunch of lewd, Vanity-fair leering, peer-driven, non-thinking, Hannah Montana-purchasing, Obama-voting automatons.
Actually, I retract that "sorry" because I'm not apologetic about it.
I don’t know what is wrong with people today.
Are they remaking Lolita?
“Why would anyone want to sexualize a child? She has had enormous success being a clean cut innocent girl.”
I always wondered that about Hilary Duff.
Yes, and look at her now.
Hilary Duff is over 18 now, I think.
I’m pretty sure we can’t blame the 12 year old for that movie scene. Brooke Shields had a psycho mother. She seems to have done OK once she ditched her.

Seen her comments on the Iraq war, shes turned into a left wing bimbo wingnut!

She can only be a ‘tween’ for a very short time. In order to keep the franchise happening, Miley must move into a new place. And when it comes to pop stardom, cute innocence ain’t where it’s at.
The answer to your first question is quite simple, and I’m sure it was rhetorical. M-O-N-E-Y.
She’s, what?, 15 years old. She has no idea what she wants, except that she wants to stay on top (because that it what she has been told she wants forever).
Sad.
According to Hollywood theology. I don't buy it. I think she could keep a lot more fans by taking a stand and not selling out her body. Girls that strip to try to hang on to stardom, don't last long and soon become the butt of jokes. I think most young people are dying for good role models that they can respect but just don't exist anywhere today.
