Is the DNC Throwing Obama Under the Bus?
Me | August 26, 2008 | Gypsy286

I’ve come to the conclusion that the DNC has realized too late that they bet on the wrong horse. To save face and avoid chaos, “hurt” feelings, etc., they decided to throw Obama under the bus with his grandmother, Rev. Wright and Tony R. They are being quite subtle about it too. Is the following line-up intentional or are they just plain stupid?

•Joe Biden selection for VP – right at the start – Joe opens his mouth (at his acceptance speech) and makes a comment about his “drop dead gorgeous wife” and “she has a doctorate and that’s a problem”. That comment won’t get more votes from women (even if it was spoken as humor). •First night of convention – Edward Kennedy kicks it off. Shows Kennedy + water (not a good idea – think Mary Jo) – shows BIG boat ($$$) – shows the clip from 30-40 years ago where Kennedy speaks about health care a “right”, not a “privilege” – just like they are saying now. Apparently the Dems haven’t got it done in 40 years, i.e. FAILURE and we are expected to believe the naïve, inexperienced “new kid” on the block can? •Gas prices are skyrocketing – Iran is making noises – Russia is selling arms to Iran – so let’s have Jimmy Carter speak (FAILURE) so people will be reminded of gas lines, coupons, interest rates and appeasement to countries that hate us (hostages). Oh, and let’s not forget how he appeased the Pali’s during his recent visit. That will make the Jewish population feel all warm and fuzzy and get more votes, wont’ it? •Hillary – FAILURE – Spends over $200 million, is still $25 million in debt and loses the nomination and Terry McCaullife tells Sean Hannity that she “ran a good campaign”. She too FAILED to pass any meaningful health care reform. •Al Gore – no explanation required – another FAILED politician. •ExPres Clinton – rumor is he wanted to speak about “his economy” and compare it to the economy under Bush. Instead, he (of all people) is asked to talk about NATIONAL SECURITY – where he was a complete and utter FAILURE!

Watching/listening to this convention and hearing thousands cheer and applaud these failures is absolutely mind-boggling.

Your thoughts?

A bloated, dying Ted Kennedy is really the perfect symbol for the Democrat party.

Your synopsis has no bearing on the outcome that results when morons have the right to vote. That is the game that Democrats embrace.

Now, back to the show.

I guess nobody saw THIS set of circumstances coming.

Ted, dead man walking, steps on the stage and gets tremendous cheering from all sides, as he goes for the Last Hurrah. He endorses the nominee, just like he always had been in full support. But at a deeper level, he is wary of the potential disaster that awaits the Democrat party as a whole. On this one, the Democrats have bet the farm, already heavily mortgaged, and are hoping for a miracle.

If McCain can produce even the feeblest degree of “coattail effect”, the Democrats may not get the huge margins they had hoped for in the House and Senate.

Very good summary. The Dems really are the party of incompetence and failure. They almost seem to take pride in it.

Our morning drive program guy gives one of the best definitions of lieberalism I've ever heard-- standing on your head and telling the world it is upside down.

These people do not think logically, they think emotionally. They think the only reason Marxism keeps failing is because the right people haven't been in charge of implementing it.

If they hammer 9% Nancy and every other RAT on the price of oil and their refusal to let us drill for it domestically, we could see a repeat of 1994. (Nobody saw that one coming either)

Not without a tooth and nail fight from the noozpeeps.

They are truly frightened that their creation will fall after all the hard work they did propping him up.

During the “tribute” to Eddie - they showed a family video of him and members of his family on a VERY LARGE ($$$$) sail boat. I don’t know what or where the body of water was.

True it’s because they still use the 1930’s hand book
1.slam the rich
2.slam people who earn what they have
3.use race card often
4.slan big businesses (unless they fund you)
5.slam anyone who thinks
6.keep the people on the farm(make then need big government)

a film clip of a very large lincoln continental being lifted from the water appeared instead of the sailing boat...what a hoot!

I often say that the Progressives are easy to spot — they’re the ones who are stuck in the 1930’s!

I think you may be right.

The DNC has botched things since the primaries.
Trying to dictate to State legislatures was not a good idea.
Canceling delegates then reinstating them as if nothing happened.
Hillary never stopping her run for the nomination.

Howard Dean has botched a lot. But I wonder if he's the messenger and the puppet master all along has been the Clintons?
