Reform

"If you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you are disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and correct them."
--Sen. John McCain

John McCain’s life is a testament to the fundamental truth that every American can be a force for change. A restless reformer who has dedicated his career to taking on special interests and the status quo, John McCain will deliver the right kind of change and reform to meet the great challenges of our time. On Tuesday, the convention program will underscore his vision of a government that is transparent, principled and worthy of the American people it serves.

I’m looking forward to it. Lately I’ve been suffering from insomnia, so this should help.

The definition of a RINO has devolved into anyone who doesn’t agree with ever miniscule iota of every conceivable element of Conservative doctrine

Are you seriously saying that Senator John "Amnesty" McCain is not a RINO?

Senator John "No-drilling-in-ANWR" is a card carrying conservative?

Senator John "Screw Political Free Speech and pass McCain Feingold" McCain isn't the most liberal Republican in the Senate?

Senator John "Cap-and-Trade Global Warming" McCain is as far right as any one of us?

If Senator John McCain is a conservative then I don't wanna be.

The demander becomes irrelevant.

Then McCain and the GOP don't need our irrelevant votes, now do they?

Did the over 3000 Americans killed on US soil in the last seven years, at the hands of ILLEGAL ALIENS (who should not have been here in the first place, particularly while we were in a "state of War" after 11 September) do you think these Americans or their loved ones left behind feel "safe" in Mr. Bush's and Mr. Cheney's America?

These are facts, you know. Care to refute?

I have unsettling news for you, but......National Security INCLUDES the frikkin border. Got it!?

I wonder how the mother serving in Iraq while her son was murdered by an illegal here felt about protecting another country while her own was invaded.

bert, it IS in fact "RINO Creep", it is the worst "mission creep" and selling of core conservative values--through situation ethics-based rationalizing, I have ever seen on my 9.5 years on Free Republic.

It is disheartening to see vast segments of the Conservative movement be bought off and silenced so easily by the RINO infrastructure and powers that be.

Everyone has gotten in the cage with the jaguar (McCain) out of fear of the approaching tiger (Obama), with nary even a stick or a club for self defense, all in abject fear of the tiger. I have news. That jaguar's lickin' his chops, too! Guess who is going to be a delicious dinner in a very short time.

I can’t find a word to disagree with in this post. You hit the nail square on the head! It’s really getting embarrassing.

I’m writing in Duncan Hunter’s name on my ballot anyway.

I don't blame you in your frustration, FRiend.

In my own case --I don't want an unauthorized write-in ballot disqualified and then tossed out--as I understand the whole ballot could be nullified and then my votes for Senator, Congressman, ballot initiative etc. would go out in the trash---so I am going to cast it for a slate of electors on my ballot in my state pledged to the most conservative candidate. In that case, two or three slates are floating around.

Maybe at the moment I punch it, I will say in a small voice "Screw you McCain", and "This one's for Duncan Hunter" simultaneously, as my vote goes Conservative, and never in a million years for McBama.

Yeah, the millions that have streamed across the border unaccosted in the past 7 years really appreciate how how secure they are.

Koolaid should set up a HUGE booth at the RNC Convention. Get their logo with that of the RINOs in the same camera view. It would be poetic justice.

So much is going to be glossed over, such as the thousands of Americans murdered by illegal aliens in the last years under both Democrap and Republican administrations.

But that wont amount to jacksh't and they could not care less about that issue, it seems. One big nice Rino John & Cindy party. Oh wonderful. "You should try the custard creme pie down at the Indiana delegation, simply lovvvvvvvely."

The definition of a RINO remains the same. The word conservative is taking a severe beating though. McCain refers to himself as a moderate, and I think he is using the term loosely. Anyone who believes that McCain is a conservative needs to figure out and explain why McCain is so popular with independents and blue dog democrats. Want to take a shot at it?

I certainly haven’t been following convention plans, but from the list of speakers I’ve heard, it is going to be one big RINOfest ... a symbolic Wake for conservative thought in the party. Wonder how that global warming plank in the platform is going to work out. I’m totally disgusted.

I am exited because we live in the greatest nation in the world. I read that America is 3% of the worlds population. Think about that! I only had a 3% chance of being born an American! So yes I am exited because the Republican Convention is basically a symbol of our freedom to choose our candidate we would want to lead us. That is something most people in this world don’t get to do. I am very proud to be an American and I never take it for granted.. God bless America!
