Great, blame the shops instead of his own stupidity.

Actually, under US law, he should get back every single penny even if the purchases were ruined.

Anyone who contracts with a minor does so at their own risk. There was even a case of where a minor bought a motor scooter, totalled it and returned it for a refund. The court made the dealer return the money for the destroyed scooter.

They contracted with a minor and assumed all the risk.

Not sure how British law works, but our US law (except Louisiana) is based on British Common Law.

I think even though the author uses pounds, the incident took place in Belgrade, Serbia.
