My ex-father-in-law was from Scotland, and he was at Dunkirk and served in the British army through to the end of the war. Despite all that, he once told me that without question the greatest the greatest human calamity he had ever witnessed was 1/4 inch of snow in Atlanta.

Southerners don't have the equipment to handle snow, or the experience. Granted 1/4 inche is not that much. I am a Southerner who lived in Massachusetts for 20 years, so I know of what I talk about.
