Spend some money for a decent gun belt - thick and stiff enough to hold together under the stress of holstering. It will last you for years. Oddly, mine seems to have shrunk...

Hmmmmmm, they seem to do that! I normally carry a Springfield .45 XD compact in a Galco holster on a very nice and heavy 2 1/4 in. wide Bianchi belt . I have had this belt for about 15 years. Recently, I relented to the fact that it is not good to have it (uncomfortably) pegged in the last hole. I had to take it to a good leather shop to get it extended 2 1/2 inches. Now, I love it again!
