She is a lady Will Rodgers! Her Alaskan accent and stright forward speech and views are refreshing..
Biden had to bite his tongue...with his little silly grinning at times.

You need to check your eyes and ears. She was much better than Biden.

I’ve seen your comments on other threads here lately and you have been consistantly anti-Palin. You weren’t objective going into the debate so you sure as hell won’t be afterward.

I don’t think so Russ. Show me one. You won’t because you can’t. I thought her speech at the convention was great, but not so much since. However, I’ve not flamed her at all.

I am watching a focus group now and they all think she won. So maybe I’m out of the mainstream here, but I call ‘em as I see ‘em.

Agreed. I was hoping for more of the pit bull. I guess we got the lipstick.

However, this is a conservative talking. I think that the general thinking on Main Street is that the greed and corruption on Wall Street is real and is what caused the economic disaster. Trying to get folks educated on CRA, ACORN, etc. in a 90 second rebuttal is pretty tough.

I know that she could not counter McCain on certain issues, but two things I would have LOVED to hear...

On Global Warming - There are certainly many scientists who would disagree that man is responsible for climate change. You know, the climate has been changing for thousands of years and there are other factors like water vapor, changes in the earth core and then there’s that great big yellow ball in the sky that probably has a thing or two to do with climate change. etc etc

On the Bailout - Man I wish John had voted against that nonsense.
We’ve got this Armeggedon Avoidance Act and Congress has added $150 MILLION in pork in this 451 page monstrosity. We are going to Washington to END this horrible waste of taxpayer money and root out the people in Congress and policies that caused this mess in the first place! etc etc

Otherwise, I thought her performance was awesome. And Biden, well, he has an interesting idea of truth and a faulty memory.

OMG - A commentator on PBS just said “as a neutral observer Biden won this debate.” Neutral? PBS? Yea, right.

WOW.

Frank Lutz the pollster, who puts a bunch of independents in a room with rotating dials, and monitors their reactions during debates and such.

Said Sarah absolutely, completely wowed the entire group.

It was amazing. When asked who thought she won — the entire room raised their hands.

Go Sarah Go!

Just wow. No wonder Alaskans love her.

She's demonstrated that she learns quickly. I missed out on the first few minutes, but what she said was less substantial than Biden's attacks, and Biden did a good job, considering what a total creep he is. It's good that Palin was likable and loyal to McCain, but she needed to show that she could eat Biden's lunch and go on the attack. She didn't do that. It's very possible that she's adhering to McCain's non-strategy of playing nice to Obama/Biden's crass, but it isn't working and had little hope of working. Palin should have been baiting Biden and calling him out on what he was saying. "Bipartisanship" and "maverick" uttered repeatedly didn't blunt Biden's attacks, which were constant even if many of them were baseless. Republicans need to get used to the concept that Democrats win by lying their heads off and betting that the opposition won't take them on.

I liked Palin's closing remarks a lot and wished she had gone a little further. Helping to jumpstart her political career as a national figure may be McCain's legacy. She'll be a vital player in the GOP farm team come January. But depending on any VP candidate to turn around your campaign is a lousy strategy.

Wow! Sarah was absolutely brilliant. I had tears in my eyes! She didn’t fold on the issues, was charming - yet forceful when she had to be. A left-wing commentator here said she “took the points”!

What kind of flames ya like?

I don’t think Biden cleaned her clock.
I think she did well, but agree with you on her style (rambling).

The Constitutional role of the VP thing, Biden won, even though he isn’t correct about the exact location of his stipulation (see, I canz uzzes big worddddddds too).

In the ‘second half’ of the ‘show’, Biden was more responsive to the questions. More direct answers.
Even though the answers might never pan out.

It was difficult to follow Sarah’s thought line, sometimes, and the repetitiveness is something the brain usually notes as an irritation.

Sarah told the truth, and based many of her positions on her experience as Governor. Which she should.

Joe told the story he was supposed to tell, and debated as the VP candidate (not sure if he realizes Obama will be President if they win) of the Democratic Party.

Bottom Line: Maybe we should have had a PALIN/BIDEN ticket.

“I know that VP debates don’t usually matter folks but I think we may have seen a game changer here!!! Go Sarah Go!!”

I don’t think there is a person in America who doesn’t think she is ready to be POTUS RIGHT NOW. She was amazing. Her only main flub was misnaming the commanding gen. in Afghanistan. She has been cramming for 2 weeks though so you can’t blame her for flubbing that one little point.

“Not sure what debate you watch and I REALLY question your motives.”

Question mine too then.

Her answers contained a lot of repetitive generic statements, and sometimes she caused me to either lose interest, or wonder what question she was responding to.

Biden was more direct, especially in the latter half, and got to his point with less extraneous verbiage.

So, depends on whether you give weight to presentation, or validity.

Sarah had more valid and proveable points.
Joe was more effective in presentation.

I think the general public (especially the sheeple) will think Joe won.

I think Joe might even make a wonderful VP. However, There’s no way in hell it should be with Obama as President.

Now 2012 Palin/Biden wouldn’t be too bad. Talk about bi-partisanship.

Wrong. The president pro tempore serves "in the absence" of the Vice President/President of the Senate. When the "absence" of the Vice President occurs is entirely up to the Vice President. If she so chooses, she could pitch a tent on the floor of the Senate, and preside at every vote, and speak as much on the floor as any of the Senators.

I know there was a ‘gotcha’ moment balloon that Sarah popped.

It obviously wasn’t intentional by Gwen, but she was throwing the issue of gay marriage back and forth between Biden and Palin, and Sarah’s final response was simply outstanding. SLAMMED THE DOOR SHUT.

“She just spent 90 minutes making the vast majority of the MSM look like complete idiots.”

I would laugh at the MSM idiots, but that’s kinda like booing the retarded kids at the Special Olympics.
