It was like old times when the Chairman posted on yesterday's thread. Nice to see you , Chairman.
Warren Buffett states that American companies will be making gains in the near future.
Tampa Rays and Boston have a game this evening.
First Lady Nancy Reagan is released from the hospital and is expected to recover well.
Good morning lysie, Chair and All. Finally getting caught up this morning on yesterday’s thread. Sorry I missed Chair’s appearance. Didn’t even see all those posts when I posted briefly last eve. He’s been gone way too long.
Good morning. It turns out there IS internet here. I am a happy camper.
The trees here are gorgeous.
Yesterday’s drive was a bit of a bother. We were stuck on the interstate, turn-off-the-car-and-try-not-to-think-about-a-full-bladder type of stuck, for a little over an hour. It could have been an hour-and-a-half. We had already been a major, bumper=to-bumper slowdown which routed everybody off the interstate, over the intersection and right back on the interstate due to an accident. Then, going through Atlanta, there were at least four more stops and slow downs. It was a rainy day which didn’t alleviate the tension whatsoever.
My informal poll based on bumber stickers and yard signs, 4 to 1 in McCain’s favor. I think most ladies here are for McCain although the conversations are on different topics really. I had the warm-up talks, but I didn’t check with the main speaker on her topics. What was cool about that is the points I had made, she reinforced. What is even cooler is that she wasn’t there for most of my talk. She had gotten held up in traffic, too. So our dovetailing our talks was a gift from Providence.
I hope the day goes well for everyone. At least Auburn will not lose this weekend. I’d say something to Raven but I’m mad at him. He knows why.
YAY! Good morning, Jem.
I’m sitting here listening to Sergi Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2. Much better than the out of tune left wingers
>>Id say something to Raven but Im mad at him.
Hah !! You can’t be mad at me. No one is ever mad at me.
I’m such a wuss [how do you spell that]
I may be in and out. Right now I must skedaddle. My talk begins in about 20 minutes.
32 degrees at the moment, and some fog to deal with.
Rave are you and Jemian feuding again?! ; )
Here's a sign of Providence. Over the past few months I've noticed that my battery was becoming increasingly sluggish when I would start my car. Yesterday after work I dropped my car off for a scheduled oil change at one of our local car shops. We've been taking our cars to this place (Eagle Automotive) because they have wonderful service, and the owner really takes an interest in his customers, and is honest as the day is long.
Fortunately the shop is a few blocks from our house so I can walk home after dropping off the car. Rich, the owner, said he'd call in about an hour to let us know we could pick it up.
He called up about an hour later and said it would be another thirty minutes because they needed to put in another battery. (He needed to get our permission to do it.) He said the car wouldn't even turn over.
I know it barely started when I left work, 20 miles from home. He said that it would not have started for me had I stopped anywhere on my way to his shop.
Whew...
The car is good to go.
Meant to include you in my morning message.
Good Morning!
Good morning.
Brrrrrrr.........
Sounds like your battery gave it’s all for the cause, lol!
Thanks for the thread and ping lysie.
Just thought I’d pass on that in the solid blue county in TX we live in, the McCain signs outnumber Ding Dong signs at 10 -1.
We’re having some folks over for a dessert / sunset party tonight and tomorrow are invited to a potluck in the afternoon. The festivities are gearing up.
Good morning, again. I must admit.. it was so chilly I did slip back under the covers.
Hi, pb.
I live in a big lib area, but those McCain signs continue to increase around here. Still many Obama signs, and I just want to shake those people up and ask them what's wrong?
There are more McCain signs than there were Bush signs four years ago.
We had a fire in the fireplace last night. It felt great.
>>Rave are you and Jemian feuding again?! ; )
I didn’ know we ever did.
Was if football?
PS — except when she pings dog for 101 (dog used to try and annoy me by getting to 101 first)
Yes! He was mean to me on the weekly thread.
Phhht! to you, Raven, you scraggly ole bird, you!
That is a very encouraging poll. Thanks for posting it.
