I know what happened in Germany. My grandfather was killed by the Nazis in Calais. I don’t need lectures on being naive, but I guess “not possible” was the wrong way to phrase my meaning. I should have said “very unlikely”. Americans are stubborn and independent.
I can see the feds limiting sales of ammo and “assault rifles”, but any serious talk of physically removing guns from the hands of the American people would probably result in several red states threatening to break from the union. I want to say that Montana already put Congress on notice recently that they would see any infringment on the 2nd Amendment as a violation of their contract with the union. I grew up in Texas and I can assure you that we take our 2nd Amendment rights very seriously, and I don’t see that changing.
It will start with "reasonable restrictions".
Then to complete the process, all they need is a horrific event that can be used to complete it. For an example, just Google the Port Arthur Massacre in Australia, and the legislative aftermath.
And if such an event doesn't happen on its own, they'll create one. Google the Reichstag Fire for an example.
I would expect some states to resist. But, I don't expect the resistance to last long. The federal government can quickly ruin any state with economic sanctions. Anyone that resists will bec
