did the little guy get away?
squirrels are awesomely smarter than most people recognize
OUCH!
LOL! Never underestimate the ability to fight for your freedom, I guess.
the Owl is Obama, and the Squirrel is flyover country.
How humiliating for the owl! LOL!
Haha - great answer... notice Obama’s claws....
You asking about the owl???? LOL!
And when they get in your attic and start eating your electrical cables and your house burns down, they are even worse than deer [the worst you can expect from a deer is that when you hit it at 65MPH, it will come through the windshield and kill you instantly].
PS: Had to stop midsentence as I was typing because I saw a squirrel out the window and had to go shoot it. Caught it on the run and required three shells to put him completely out of his misery.
PPS: Have noticed that since I went on this mission to eradicate all of the squirrels around here, we are now seeing some gorgeous & exceptionally large red-headed woodpeckers in our nut trees which I have never seen before now - I think the squirrels were crowding them out of the ecosystem, but now they feel safe to move back in.
Squirrels are vermin. Eradicate them.
Sorry the owl came up short.
I hate squirrels.
Yowza!
He got some choppers, don’t he?
Funny, a while back this summer I saw this critter cross the road and I’m looking at it like WTF is that?
Not a coon, not a possum, not a rat, not a rabbit... turned out it was a gray squirrel that had lost it’s tail somehow!
Surprised it could survive very well, because they use their tails alot navigating and balancing in the trees.

There’s a squirrel in our back yard that terrorizes our dog ALL THE TIME. He sits up in one or another of the trees and throws things down at the dog. And hits him with some those things.
Then he jumps from tree to tree, and runs along the 6’ high wood fence, just teasing the dog.
My neighbor says he uses his .22 with low power ammunition to shoot the squirrels in his trees. I’m tempted to hire my neighbor for a day.
That is a fantastic series of photographs. I am also a photographer, so please, please, please - next time give the citation to the owner of the works in the comment or the headline. We hate to see our works posted without credit due. However, thank you for posting the link citation, but most will not follow it, so crediting the photographer and is website first is most appreciated.
So true. Just think of how they can remember where they buried their nuts.
The Travel Channel had a program on one night that was the "10 Smartest Animals." Squirrels were on the list. They showed squirrels taking their nuts to a street so that the cars would run over them and crack them open. After the car went by, the squirrels would run back to the street to retrieve their cracked nuts.
NUTZ
LOL! Get some! I’m gonna need some more firepower for those rats..
I hope you put it in your pot (or freezer)
Squirrel is about the best tasting small game there is!
I had trained several backyard squirells to crawl up my pantsleg to accept pecans. Got a cat and he soon put a stop to that!
Squirrels are yummy, especially with gravy. ;~)
