"My response was always crickets." Yeah. I experienced the same thing. Seemed like every time I posted facts I was a troll, but if I shot venomous anti-liberal wise cracks I was a genius. My favorites lately were all the postings about all the polls in 2004 giving Kerry a tremendous lead. I didn't remember it that way and when I posted the actual poll results from 2004 as you can see below, I was an Obama-troll. :-) Go figure. In my book you can't accomplish a thing if you lie to yourself or think in delusional manner. It might trip ones endorphins enough to make them feel good, but it doesn't accomplish anything productive.
