I love that movie. I met an oldtime SSF/SF guy who had a BBQ restaurant in Albuquerque, NM (JR's, his son still runs it) that is covered with 1st Special Services mementos.
It's right outside Kirtland AFB, and is jammed w/military and DOE folks every day.
Decades ago, when I was on a reserve SF team in Albq., he used to feed me for free. Wouldn't take my money.
