You should ditch it and go with a Trijicon ACOG... I used it in the military and use it now for my AR15 Carbine. Here is an excerpt from the website http://www.trijicon.com:
The ACOGs are internally-adjustable, compact telescopic sights with tritium illuminated reticle patterns for use in low light or at night. Bindon Aiming Concept (BAC)* models feature bright daytime reticles using fiber optics which collect ambient light. The ACOGs combine traditional, precise distance marksmanship with close-in aiming speed. Although the ACOGs have many features which are very advantageous for military use, they were developed by Trijicon without government funding.
Designed for use with the M16 family, every feature of its mechanical and optical design was chosen for a single purpose: to provide increased hit potential in all lighting conditions — without failure-prone batteries.
The Trjicon is a fantastic option but the cost could ecxeed the price of the rifle. If they can afford it full speed ahead.
I’d buy an EOTech or Aimpoint instead, and with the difference I’d buy a bunch of ammo and mags. ACOGs are great if Uncle Sam is buying.
Thank you all! I don’t want to spend alot of money. Especially more than the cost of the actual rifle! I don’t want a “high end” scope, but I don’t want a “crap” scope either. So send it back, and pay a little more for something that is better?
Speaking of carbines, has anyone ever used a Hi Point? I use and like their pistols, but have no experience with the carbine models.
That's sho' 'nuff what I'm getting.
