Gotta say ... its either Allman's "Fillmore East" or Who "Live at Leeds" being the BEST live albums ever recorded. It's a difficult choice, they are both so damn good in their own way ... "Statesboro Blues" Fillmore is a classic live track, as is "My Generation" from Leeds ....

I dislike, as well as welcome, thread discussions such as this, as there is so much great stuff out there ... yin/yang, as it were .... /laughs

Rock n ROOL !!!

Except for Hendrix, I have seen just about all the great ones. I actually saw Duane Allman at the Harrisburg Area Community College in PA in 1971. Very small venue. Awesome. I saw Dickie Betts just a few years ago at a bar in downtown State College, PA, again, no more than 250 people, unbelievable. My wife and I went to see The Who just after Entwhistle's death (actually we went to see Robert Plant who was their support act). Excellent show. I thought both Pete and Roger were in great voice, and Pete was still able to rock that guitar. Of course he did the windmill thing and the crowd just went nuts. Feel sorry for the music my kids have to listen to...

If you want to see a great blues/rock band, check out The Derek Trucks Band if you haven't already. He's Butch Trucks' kid, and you may know his work with the Allman Brothers. His band does small rooms and they are outstanding.
