MINNEAPOLIS - A 38-year-old Carroll woman who reportedly was involved in sexual activity with a man inside a Minneapolis Metrodome bathroom Saturday night as others cheered was cited for misdemeanor indecent conduct, University of Minnesota Police Chief Greg Hestness said.
A University of Minnesota Police Department document reports that Lois Kay Feldman, 38, 634 Troy Drive, and Ross Matthew Walsh, 26, of Linden, were having sexual intercourse in a men's restroom during the University of Iowa's 55-0 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Walsh was also cited for indecent conduct. Both were released.
"The initial security guard reported they were having sexual intercourse," Hestness told the Daily Times Herald.
The police report says Walsh and Feldman were "drunk" and "uncooperative."
In the report, a witness said he walked into the bathroom during the game and saw two sets of legs, both with their pants and underwear around their ankles under the handicapped toilet stall. The witness said he looked through the gaping in the stall door and saw Walsh and Feldman engaged in sexual intercourse, according to the report.
The witness yelled at them to stop and sought the assistance of police, according to the University of Minnesota report.
Feldman told the Daily Times Herald this morning that she has hired an attorney, Jeff Minnich of Carroll, to investigate the matter. She admits to drinking alcohol heavily before the game and said she doesn't know Walsh or how she got into the men's restroom.
"Apparently I went to go to the bathroom and I don't know if I ended up in the men's bathroom, and was going to the bathroom," Feldman said. "I do not remember anything from the game. I don't remember a thing. I don't remember anything for three hours after. I actually fled the scene and got lost in Minneapolis."
Police say Feldman initially gave them a false name before they spoke with her husband to learn her correct identity.
For her part, Feldman said she had been at a friend's house before the game and went to the Metrodome with only her husband.
"I know that this is hurting my family," Feldman said.
The story has been a Midwestern media sensation in recent days. For example, it is the most-read story today on the Minneapolis Star-Tribune's Web site. That article carries the headline: "Crowd cheered Metrodome sexcapade."
University of Minnesota police officer Luke Huck said the reported sexual activity had become something of an exhibition by the time he arrived.
"When I walked into the bathroom I observed a crowd of approximately 15 people gathered around the stall, cheering and laughing," Huck said in the report.
When he opened the stall, the officer said he observed fondling and kissing. Both Walsh and Feldman were in various states of disrobe. Police separated the two, although Hestness said he wasn't certain if it was done verbally or physically.
Hestness said police believed Feldman and Walsh knew each other. But Feldman said Walsh was a stranger to her.
"It didn't happen in my head," Feldman said. "I don't know who it was. I don't know how I got into that bathroom. I don't know any of it."
She added, "That doesn't sound very believable, but it's the truth."
Hestness said university police have not dealt with a sex act in a bathroom at the Metrodome before.
Next year, the Gophers will move to another venue - TCF Bank Stadium - where alcohol will not be permitted at the games.
"There were a lot of people drinking," Hestness said of the Big 10 game.
Police released Feldman to her husband, and Walsh to his girlfriend.

Is she playing with his stick?
Did they do “safe sex”?
Why weren’t they watching the game?
Hot water usually works.
She’s kind of pretty, but he looks like an animal. Safe sex? Why not, the probably have condoms in the men’s room there.
Who wants to sit in cold stands and watch a boring blow out.
The kind of girl to bring home to meet mother.
Something tells me that he may be filing for divorce charges real soon, just a hunch I have.
Was it really necessary to include that in the story? :0)
The handicapped stall should be reserved for only handicapped people having sex.
Um... Suspended sentence.
They decided to Gopher It!
He called the play. It was a pass and she was the wide out! It was a deceptive play and he went right up the middle!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I am glad the authorities gave her address./sarc
“released Feldman to her husband, and Walsh to his girlfriend”
Hmmmm, I forsee some lawyers making some money in the near future.
Those are a couple of Thanksgiving dinners that might not go too smoothly. :^)
Sounds kind of Kennedyesque, heavy drinking, no idea what happened.
Guilty! Not worthy of any relationship outside a mens room.
