OBAMA'S voting Record "Present" Please comment!
My Thoughts | 12/01/2008 | NEVERBLUFFER

I am unsure if this has relevance to the birth certificate issue, but since it has been stated that if Obama became President and later was found to be ineligible, any law that he signed would also be invalidated.

Remember back during the election that is became common knowledge that Senator Obama voted "PRESENT" the majority of times on Senate Votes.

Could this because he knew he was not a US Citizen, and didnt want Senate votes to be invalidated? Perhaps that is why he voted "PRESENT" so many times.

Please comment

He doesn’t care about any of that.

He is a stealth candidate; he has been flying under the radar his whole political life, presenting the smallest possible target to his opponents. That allows him to be all things to all people.

It worked. The fact that he has seldom if ever taken a firm stand on anything, combined with his complete lack of accomplishment ought to have told Americans everything they needed to know about him. But it worked for him. He allowed people to use him as their blank canvas upon which to paint their every dream.

If you can do that and get 51% of the people fall for it, you can be president too.

He should come to my National Guard’s accountability formation, there’s always a chance to say “Present!” [/cynic][/sarc]

The citizen requirement of which you speak is only pertinent to a U.S. presidential candidate. There have been non-U.S. born citizens who have served or are serving right now in the senate.

The “present” votes by Obama in his prior work ezperience were just cowardly and non-committal votes.

Funny how he made his career disqualifying opponents who did not properly follow the letter of the law and procedure, and he is now obstructing any and all investigations into his place of birth.

Unlikely. “Present” equates to “undecided”. Obama is not exactly a decisive leader.

Not true ... his "100+ "Present" votes were in the Illinois State Senate, not the US Senate.

You are missing the point. I am aware that those votes pertained to his State Senate position. I also understand that you dont have to be natural born to be a State Senator.

But you do have to be a “citizen” and I am not convinced he is even a Citizen, nevertheless Natural Born.

If he were not a Citizen, any YEAH vote could potentially invalidate the law he voted on.

By voting Present/Undecided it could be interpreted that he did not vote on the law therefore it is valid.

Gotta call BS here ... in your original post you wrote

He voted present because he didn't want his votes in the Illinois State Senate invalidated .... right.

Nice try noob .. but I still think your original understanding was that he voted present as a U.S. Senator.

You asked for comments, these are mine.

Welcome to Free Republic! I would recommend posting inciteful articles rather than stuff like this. We have entirely too many vanity posts that clutter up Free Republic and dilute the site. There are so many major articles already posted that you could have posted this comment to.

Also - in this case I find your “theory” extremely weak. First of all there is no consitutional requirement to be a natural born citizen to be elected U.S. Senator.

http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/uscongress/a/senrequire.htm

But even if there was one you would have us believe Obama was so worried about legislation that he purposefully voted present but yet still decided to run for President? Your theory is based flawed logic and incorrect information.

You don’t have to be a natural born citizen to serve in congress, remember Tom Lantos?

Coorect(sic), I stated Senate votes, did not specify US or State did I?

So you still want me to believe that the reason BHO voted "present" in the Illinois State Senate (something he didn't do in the U.S. Senate) was because he was afraid someone would find out later on the he wasn't a citizen and those Illinois laws would be, to use your word, "invalidated".

Sorry neverbluffer ... but I'm still calling your bluff ...

You thought BHO's "present" votes happened in the U.S. Senate because you weren't paying attention during the election cycle. As a result, you heard and believed what you wanted to, rather than the facts.

Keep saying otherwise if you must, but you're beginning to remind me of Queen Gertrude
