True enough. That said, I hope this movie comes to pass. I loved Rome and hated the way HBO mistreated it.
Couldn't stand Deadwood, though.

I have not seen either series. My husband was talking about renting the first season of “Rome” from Blockbuster; maybe he will.

You and I part ways on this one. I didn’t care for Rome, but have all seasons of Deadwood on DVD. Absolutely my favorite show.

Actually, it was the BBC backing out of their end of the funding (it was a joint HBO/BBC venture) that caused the show to be dropped, but I think HBO should have gone on without them. The problem with quality period productions is the high costs (on of the reasons the excellent Carnival was dropped).
