****I don't see Penn St. hanging up 17 points on USC's defense. Their defense is near NFL caliber.****

Yup. Unfortunately when they go to that NFL they have trouble adjusting to the pay cut. LOL!

It was. A pass interference call with the game-winning two-point conversion on the U? That was the worst call in any Championship Football game I’ve ever seen, college or pro. No pass interference could be seen. Go back and look at the tape.

Some female OSU fan must’ve promised that ref a Lewinsky right before the call. That’s the only way i can explain it.

"WTF? Notre Dame vs. Hawaii?" I saw that too. It must be a joke. Perhaps the Lions will be in the NFL playoffs too.

The 2002 bowl loss happened on a make up call. OSU drew a late flag that enabled them to have additional chances to score in OT. I think the call itself sucked.

However....

on a key 3rd down play that would have closed the game out a Miami DB grabbed the jersey of an OSU receiver. The jersey stretched as clear as day, save for Caines’ fans, so the flag should have been automatic and with the 1st down OSU could pretty much run it out. Instead they have to kick to Hester who rips off a huge return.

I also remember the Caines winning a bunch of national titles but also losing to Penn State, Nebraska, OSU,Tennessee and Alabama in title/partial title games.

They have put many great players in the NFL but until Butch Davis got there they were nothing but thugs and ghetto breeders.

Of course you rather convenently forget to mention the pass interference or defensive holding call that was not called on Ohio State’s 3rd down play late in the 4th quarter before Miami kicked the tying FG in the 4th quarter. If the refs had made that call OSU has a first down and can run out the clock.

Teams on a mission tend to step up and play at a higher level. We know Mack Brown will hammer the we got screwed card and send OSU to the woodshed early.

OTOH, if somehow Beanie Wells can set an early tone and Terelle Pryor takes what they give him, things can work out OK.

The ever delusional Lou Holtz has ND winning on the big island.

An ESPN viewer poll had 78% picking Hawaii to beat the Irish, with an "electoral college map" colored entirely in blue with ND obviously being designated as red.

So you’re saying that the refs attempted to “right” a “wrong” by perpetrating another “wrong”? A bad call is far worse than a non-call.

The BCS is broken but a playoff would destroy college football.

The Texas/OU/Tech thing is *not* a BCS issue. Each conference sets their own tiebreaks and *any* poll used as just the third level is moronic. Take that away and there is only one controversy left.

The controversy with Boise could be resolved with a playoff for a BCS bowl but not the championship. A second at large school in the top 12 should be able to play a lower ranked BCS team for the right to a bowl. That would mean if Boise wants in they have to play Virginia Tech or the lowest ranked BCS seeking at at large (Ohio)...
