The ruling Republicans did not look at the evidence in the Clinton senate trial and gave him a pass on the theory it would be worse to have Gore sit as president.
Such thinking may be at work today and Republicans may not take effeective action on Jan 8. However, notwithstanding Hillary is also a Marxist, history suggests an O presidency would be more damaging.
