'Most people here do not have any religion, especially not the young.' True statement. However, there is a growing Christian movement in China which is doing a good job of spreading the Word. Of course, they have to watch out for the government which does not appreciate the effort.

The love of money is the root of all evil. And, there is nothing evil (Satan) loves more than death to as many unsaved souls he can take with him. He comes to steal and to kill.

In the past, the Communist Party regulated everyone's lives, guaranteeing the 'iron rice bowl' of government support from cradle to grave. This is no longer the case and many Chinese have lost their footing. Lost their footing? What the.....this was the same Communist party that disintegrated traditional Chinese culture in the first place!!!!
Oh but I forgot. We mustn't blame the Communists for the social destabilization that caused all this mess. No, they were a force for good and for order; the disorder now is because the Communists aren't as dutiful providers as they used to be. /sarc

With between 250,000 and 300,000 suicides a year, China accounts for about a quarter of the global total, according to medical sources. That would stand to reason, given that China is about a fifth to a quarter of the global population.
