Fudd guns in the top ten. No doubt a F&S list.

Since I own six of your ten , it is hard to disagree . I would have thrown in the A-5 but that might be because I just happen to shoot better with it .

One or two of those I could agree to having in a top ten list, but that would be about all.
If nothing else, metallurgy has come a long way in the last 40 years or so; it doesn't hurt to dry snap modern rifles but you'd not want to do it with anything 'pre-64'...
Modern autoloading shotguns are much faster than those of 40 yearss ago i.e. you can't outrun the trigger on Beretta or Benelli's recent semiautos.

Thanks for the article. My dad just handed down his Winchester Model 70 to our son.

The only one (actually three) from that list that I own is the Benelli. I have two H&K Benelli M1S90s for home defense and a Super Black Eagle II for hunting.

The author loses.
No 1911, Colt Model P or High Power on the list.
Now if you change the headline to the 10 morst popular hunting firearms, it would make sense.

I would have to disagree form the broad best ever made. GE Gatling gun was fabulous over Viet Nam. 16incher was a winner in the Pacific. Chain guns should not be left out. 6 inchers were extremely accurate. M14 and M1 Garand should be in the best.

Yank the Remington 870 since the Winchester Model 12 is more appropriate. Yank the XP-100. Substitute the M1911A1 for the XP-100. I agree with the rest but not as a FINAL list whatever that means. But this list is fine for a "sporting list."

glad to see the Mossberg 500 and the Remington over-under. I didn’t realize when I was young and firing these fine weapons that they were a couple of the greatest weapons ever.
I just knew they hurt fairly bad in 12 gauge form when you are only 12 years old. The bruises go away but the memories never fade.

I like #7. Add just a few thousand dollars worth of “modifications” and you have what hogs call a “40”.
