Sorry, USC, Florida, or UTAH would beat Texas. But they did beat Oklahoma, so maybe Texas can end up #4

But I’m glad a Big 12 team finally won a bowl game...

You haven't been paying attention. The much maligned (in Texas) Northern Division of the Big 12 is 3-0 in bowl games. Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas all won. Okla State and Texas Tech lost, Texas won. Oklahoma hasn't played yet. The Big(?)10 or 11 is now 1-6 in bowl games.

“I was glad to see them win after the bad pass interference call that kept an OS drive alive.”

That roughing the passer call on OSU was pure BS. It sparked the 3Q for Texas.

Darn good game. Not a follower of either team, but that was some mighty fine football.

If Ohio State had an offense that was as good as their defense the game would not have even been close.

But then I’m an Okie, so I can’t possibly be objective.

OSU scored our last touchdown too fast. We should have eaten up more of the clock. You can’t leave a team like Texas 2 whole minutes to score.

They also should have gone for just a one-point-conversion on their second touchdown. If Ohio had been able to get off a last second field goal, it could have been a game winner if the score were 24-22 rather than a tying score at 24-21.

Why is it that the Ohio State stopped playing defense with 19 seconds left in the game?

“Buckeyes exceeded expectations in this game.

Great last drive by Texas. :

NOT GOOD enough for this Buckeye fan. Sick of losing the big games. Offensive play calling horrible until the 4th qtr. I think someone got in Tressels ear and said “hey, last game of the year, let’s open the playbook past page 3”.
19 seconds left and 20 plus yds to go. No need to blitz in that situation plus that db needs to tackle that guy at the ankles and not high.
I want to punch something right now...just sick of this same crap feeling.

Texas needed a blowout win to stake a claim to #1. Texas will now have to contend with USC and Utah for who’s #2.

Penn St beat Oregon St beat USC beat Penn St

LOL

The only undefeated team in the country cannot be named first. The agreement with the BCS prevents the final poll from naming another team to avoid having teams like USC claim to be national champions when they were not in the championship game as they have done in the past.

I’d give USC more credit than I do this year if I thought Penn ST was all that much to brag about. Penn St got where they were by beating up on other weak Big 10 teams and by beating Oregon St - remember them?

Sorry Texas, they beat Ohio State by 3 with a last second touchdown on a blown coverage. No safety behind to make a tackle. Ohio State will finish about #12 in the country.

You beat Oklahoma earlier in the season when they weren’t scoring 60pts a game, I do believe the Big 12 should have a rule the top 2 teams in the BCS should play for the Conference Championship if noone from the other division in BCS eligible.

3 strikes and your out, kind of like the Big 10 in BCS bowls. I’m from Big 10 Country but it’s time to quit inviting 2 teams from a bad conference.

Hook Em Horns!!

Great last drive. McCoy and Co. had a very hard time getting into sync this game. I credit Ohio for keeping them off balance. However, it is sweet that UT wins after that damn last second play in Lubbock. Otherwise UT would be #1. Not impressed with the Big 10 this year. I would loved to see a game between UT and Utah.

I wish we had a playoff system cuz the BCS stinks.

The Eyes of Texas are Upon You!!

As an OU fan living in Texas, I’d have to agree. But I’m glad a Big 12 team finally won a bowl game...I was beginning to wonder if we were over-rated this year.

You most certainly are. Highly touted Missouri and Texas Tech got destroyed in bowl games this year by "inferior" teams.

Then Texas eeks out a win when Ohio's number 1 offensive weapon Chris Wells is out with an injury the whole 2nd half.

I think Utah deserves #1 after watching them take alabama apart.

Problem is, Ohio was missing Wells for this game and really most of the season with injuries.

So you have a QB who can’t throw and no real running back. That leaves an offense that depends on Pryor to drop back, fake a pass and run. Or if you put the other QB in, the defense blitzes, ingnoring the non existant running game and sacks the QB.

Only one team has a legitimate claim on the #1 ranking.

Congratulations University of Utah.

I was glad to see them win after the bad pass interference call that kept an OS drive alive.

That was a good flag. Robiske ran a 15 yard hook, and when he tried to come back to the ball, he got held and the ball fell about 7 feet in front of his feet. Why is that a bad call.
