They've been running ads on TV for awhile explaining what the situation is. Many TV stations have been airing programs, on both their channels and their websites, explaining what's going on.

There's nothing on - and people who are too stupid to have this scoped out shouldn't be watching TV anyway - they can't afford the automatic 15-point IQ drop that goes with it.
On September 8 2008, Wilmington, North Carolina became the first city in America to fully switchover from analog to digital broadcasts. All analog signals were terminated at 12pm noon.
I can see panic about children not getting emergency health care - or the elderly being abused in nursing homes - but this? No TV picture?

With a pair of amplified rabbit ears and analog TV, I get four snowy channels.
With the same rabbit ears feeding into the Dish Networks box, I get 20 channels as crystal clear as digital cable. No snow, no ghosting, no multipath. Once I install a fishbone antenna, I should be able to receive over 40 channels.
Ebay is loaded with hundreds of boxes for sale - looks like recipients are just laundering the cards via purchased component auctions.
